I am pretty truck illiterate, so don't judge. I was wondering how to tell the difference between a body lift and suspension lift. I have read up on it some, and can't seem to locate spacers and have only 3 leafs on suspension. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Do you suspect your truck has been lifted in some fashion?

If there are no spacers that's a good thing. The truck should be lifted with suspension (springs & shocks) not spacers anyhow.

Body lift kits are something I'm not familiar with. All they do is lift the body up off the frame higher so you really don't gain anything so far as functionality goes that I'm aware of.

Here's an exaggerated body lift. See how the body is so much higher than the frame?

Both of my inner boots on my front axle are busted. Started to read up on how to fix them, and saw where a lift can change the angle and cause the boots to bust. And if that was the case, buying new axles or a boot kit would only last for a certain amount of time before I was back at square one. So I am trying to get all of my ducks in a row before I throw away money.

I have 265/70/r17 tires. I'm thinking I may have a 3" lift of some type.

That's a definite spacer lift in that photo.

@PaulWall88 can you supply a photo of your front end suspension/spring setup?

How many miles on your truck? Being that it's a 2007 it could likely just be normal wear and tear that's caused the boots to go.

Yeah I know, but you can lift your truck three ways. Body lift, suspension, or a leveling kit.
I'm just trying to figure out what the front strut looks like and we can narrow it down

You have spacers. Giant metallic looking object. Huge spacer.

Is it possible to just have them on the front for leveling purposes? Or is this an all around type deal?

Must be spacers on the rear as well for it to sit as close to level as it does - having only a 3 leaf rear spring and all.

That's a good sized spacer for just leveling. I'm betting there are spacers in the back too. Especially if you only have a 3 leaf rear spring setup.

I looked around the back suspension for spacers and none jumped out. Any tips on where specifically to look or if they may differ look wise in the back compared to the front?

Here's a really obvious photo so you can see what to look for. Yours would be dirty though.

I may have lied. Could be 4 leaf springs.

Looks like 4 leaf pack. Is that a block sitting on top? Can't tell due to picture quality.

It is a block sitting on top of the leaf springs, but it's not supporting anything. Just strapped down by the U-bolts.
