can i remove my catilytic converter

my cat is warped ans i was curious if i can just remove the cat attach a straight pipe to the header (pacesetter) and run the straight pipe to a flowmaster exhaust. i want a deepsound not this leaking riceburner sound any suggestins please let me know.

 

uh sure, but its illegal in all states if I remember correctly. Just watch out who inspects it.

 

i never had it inspected before my plan is to justcadd a straight pipe tpvthe muffler by passing the cat with the warped flange does this sound like a dumb idea cats are like 200 bucks

 

see if maybe you can get one from a junk yard first. do you have an o2 sensor before or after the cat??

 

one before and one after junkyards here dont sell cats its illegal or something

 

since you have sensors before and after, you may need to get a high flow cat like maybe from magnaflow, or a universal cat so it wont throw a cel. if you want straight pipe, you may be able to put in a straight pipe, but to keep the cel off, you may need an o2 sensor bung and either the sensor itself or an o2 simulator.

 

it almost sounds cheaper to just by the cat and install it i wonder if there is a miracle gasket that will fix the warp or seal it or something it doesnt sit right in the header flsnge

 

maybe you can get another header flange welded on and get rid of the warped one.

You get a Stock exhuast. Polish the inside with a gringer and start over again..

Cleaning up any non smooth edges really helps.
it is a way I free up HP for track cars running Stock class who can not add headers.

 

what do yo mean
