Is it possible that the cabrack has caused a 2 mpg decrease in gas mileage? Just wondering if anyone else has noticed.

Nothing yet - just got it two days ago!
Silicone - I used something from Home Depot too, specific for automotive and marine use. I believe it was from 3M, but don't have it handy. I blew out the back seam on the tube, so I threw it away. It was clear...

Mileage - don't know yet. Haven't driven it far enough since the install to tell!

Next project - bed rack. We have 4 kayaks...long kayaks... that need transport. With a ~5 foot bed, we're going vertical - crossing the whole length of the truck.

I am thinking of the All-Pro / APEX Pack Rack. Thoughts?

Although I would buy one from Zach/Zack in a heartbeat if he had one!

Many thanks. This is a kick.

    Jim

I did notice it. I had a bedrack and RTT and only had a minimal decline in MPGs. Put the roof rack on and dropped at least 1.5-2 MPG. I have an ultraguage and was surprised so I recalibrated it and it was confirmed. Oh well...

    I got mine in today!
So I have read a lot of pages on this thread and this is what I have gathered (I have a 05 Tacoma access cab)
-3/4" open punch is best, how do you remove weather stripping and re install? anything special?
-be careful with expansion nut bolts, they can brake
-when deciding where to drill the holes, should you put the rack onto the roof and eyeball it, then measure and repeat on the other side? what is the best method?
-process is after measuring and what not, drill->punch stripping->reinstall striping->fill hole with silicone->spacer->rack->hardware?
-are there any wires or harnesses to watch out for, I saw some some guy messed up some wiring and some people had to watch out for air bags? I believe those are newer models and I shouldn't have to worry about it right?
-has anyone fabbed up any cool mounts for theirs on their own? I have ideas for my highlift/shovel/axe, water port, light bar mount, and traction ramps.
-I've been trying to research as much as possible but there is thousands of post and it gets a little redundant, any tips? this is just what I could think of before even opening the box...:goingcrazy:

And thanks for the quick delivery and great service, can't wait to see it for myself! I'll be sure to get some cool photos, I need to get one for the shell now.. Y'all make me want to spend way to much money..

^^ I have mine on my 08. It took a lot of measuring and eyeballing and prayers to make sure it was centered. I used the leather punch to go thru the weather stripping after I removed it and marked on painters tape on the roof where the holes to be drilled were. No airbags in the roof of my truck as its an 08. You won't have any on yours either. Use a step drill bit and go slow. Be patient. I replaced my weather stripping and used black weather proof adhesive to remount it. Use plenty of silicone around the holes just before remounting the weather stripping. Good luck with yours it took me 2 yrs to finally grow a pair and put mine on. Glad I did. Made drilling holes for the snorkel much easier to handle after putting on the roof rack.

    one mod at a time!
just got my prinsu cabrac for my 2015 DCSB. My question is. What is the best brand of silicone application seal for me to use on. Seattle rain/northwest weather is the main reason why i need to go on this route.

I just use 100% silicone from home depot when I do installs. It has held up well for a truck parked outside 24/7 in Utah.

To anyone running the TRS Morimoto XTorch light bars on these, do the heretic light mounts on the prinsu site work with em? If not, care to share your setups? Going to assemble later tonight..This thing looks awesome!

Got it on today! Looks great. Happy with the results.

Thank you for he customer service Zach. You're awesome.

Grandma tripped over it in the living room and had to get 13 stitches. Other than that happy with everything.

Sometimes the simple solution is the best!! I put the rack together pretty late after work a few days ago and I had it all laid out I just couldn't picture it working because I kept trying to get both bolts in to connect the bracket to the light bar. This looks like it'll do just fine, thanks man! Like the Christmas lights on there too!

I've not received my Prinsu racks as of yet, and I have one being shipped to me with the 40" light bar cut-out.

What is the largest single row lightbar you can fit? I received a 43" single row light bar for Christmas and am wondering if it will fit?
