Thinking like someone who'd put HIDs in their stock fog / headlamp housing!

Even then it mitigated the point of fog lights. Their purpose is to not scatter and glare back to you while in fog. If you need to light up the road get an led light bar. They'll do far better than that thin blob of light fogs throw out

I put HID's in my lows and Fogs and LED's in the highs!!!:bananadance:

Opt-7 Blitz 55w 6000k in the lows, Opt-7 Blitz Bullet 3500k in fogs, Mictuning 6k LED's in highs. It's been a couple days with them on and a lot of night driving and no flashing of on coming traffic yet or tickets! Love the color combo especially with the color of my truck. The light output is amazing and the fogs spread the light off to the sides to make up for the lack of that with the lows.

The one thing I like about the LED's in the lows is that it gives a wider spread of light to the sides, but the throw of light distance sucks. HID's is the opposite... Further throw but not so much spread. Putting HID's in the fogs and having them on along puts out enough light at sundown and can see what's off to the sides of me. Love it!

haha hater. Easy way to prevent blinding? DON'T LOOK INTO MY LIGHTS. I'm gonna do what I have to to get the best light for driving. Please take your hating elsewhere. Thanks

I assume you can use some pods as fogs if you aim them in the right angle..? I've seen a couple trucks on the street with them on and not blinding at all.

Not these, but DOT legal pods exist, which in all likelihood is what you've seen on the road.

someone will sue you if you cause teir accident. last 2 obnoxiously lit vehicles that blinded me(night blindness issues) i just pulled into their lane and stopped. thought last guy running roof bar was going to come to blows. end of the day there are another roughly 7.2b people we share the world with. someday you will learn(hopefully) being a careless dick will haunt you

Seriously though what in the actual fuck is going on here? Your lows and fogs are both above eye level. Your high beams are lighting up the trees. You stated that you wanted as much light as possible, but you're wasting light shining onto oncoming traffic and signaling passing planes where to land. You put HID's in your fogs... so you're just throwing light everywhere. You put LED's in your highs, which is well known to be a horrible application as LED's don't have nearly the throw of Halogen or HID.

You may think what you've done looks good and improved your light output, but at every turn you've ruined your visibility, and the visibility of those sharing the road with you. I'm not telling you to remove your lights because god knows you are steadfast in keeping that garbage, but I hope everyone else uses your light choices as an example of what not to do.

Before you call me a hater, yes, I'm hating on your setup because it sucks, scientifically.

If you are smart and learned anything in defensive driving, when driving at night with oncoming traffic, if their headlights are blinding you, you are to glance down at the solid white/yellow line to the right of the hwy/lane/direction which you are traveling on..not at the lights themselves..that's called distracted driving and that falls on you not the other person. Even truckers know that.

I've been and have driven from San Antonio to El Paso at night (no hwy lights, desert, dps, border patrol and sheriffs everywhere) multiple times over the past years with HID's in lows and fogs and never been stopped or flashed at. Also, I have seen assholes that have HID's or driven with their brights on and never have I been blinded..why? because of what I learned in defensive driving and my driving test since the day I got my license. Yea my lights might be bright and will be used for night driving but if there is a knowledgeable person driving in my direction, they'll know not to stare into my headlights and to glance to the right solid line while passing me which will allow them not to end up in the lane of oncoming traffic.

And If you have issues with nighttime blindness, then maybe you shouldn't be driving in the dark or maybe get some prescription sunglasses for that.
