I think they did you right and even loaned you a Tacoma, even if it is new. That's pretty damn outstanding of them and without hassle.

I agree with this. I ran 33x12.50s on an 8" steel rim for 12 years. Never lost a bead or bent a rim.
(Many Rubicon and Fordyce runs, and snow runs down to 10psi). The wider the rim, the more likely
you'll lose a bead, and/or bend a rim. I would NOT use an 8" rim for tires wider than 12.50, however.

you sure can. As others said, its better than running a 10 wide rim for airing down. I just came across a great deal with the MTR's already mounted thus the reason I am running them. I use to run an 8 inch wide rim

    Well thank you sir!

no negative effect, more of a positive tbh. I just don't know the damn backspacing on these wheels and it doesn't say on the back. So I might just order a 5 15x8 rims and switch back over. I'm sure somebody will buy the 10 inch wide wheels on CL

    Hey now!! :(

I go to the cool mall

just got told they cant align the truck. WTF!!

Took it to a tire shop down the street. He said my gear box is fucked..lol....truck shifts and drives fine. Steering rack then?? I need to figure this shit out. Damn.

It drove fine all the way home yesterday. Truck is all over the place when driving.

    ANY IDEAS???

I'm just giving you a hard time about the wheels.

Do you have spindle gussets? Enough force to bend a wheel could pretty easily bend a spindle.

That's the most likely culprit for messing up an alignment after wheeling.

so I have a couple days to do some wrenching

Am I jumping the gun by putting the plate bumper on the front (no winch) before I put my OME suspension on in a few weeks ?

No offroad plans between now and then.

I'm running d window steel rims.

I also prefer the 8" wide rims because you gain a hair of height(supposedly) and it holds the bead much better and keeps the wheel out of the rocks usually a bit more. As others have said.

15x10 does look awesome though. But for my uses 8" wide is better.

If you use a 1/4" spacer now you'll be fine. I ground down the calipers.

Yes. Generally that is the minimum width of tires 12.5" wide.

7.5" wide (stock) usually isn't recomended. Plus you have to run a lower preassure for driving around town to get even wear of narrower rims.

Hood done. Bumper installed. New grille, head lights and corner markers and a quick wash... Now to wait for a good deal on a winch.

    I know!!

So my spindle is probably bent? I just don't see how I drove home 1 1/2 hours home and it was ok. After showering I told the wife I was going to go grab us food and then boom. Tires went all crazy.

I am now thinking of towing it Toyota so they can do a full rundown and tell me what exactly is wrong. Then I can go ahead and do the work myself

    crap, hope its not that

Thanks Monte. I think my bro in law has a set that he wants to get rid of! I'll pick those up

Been doing that for about a year, I think my problem is the actual gasket. My truck is a tad over the 200k mark.

    If you're by yourself...
lift one tire in the air, the other on the ground, there should be 0 play side to side/up and down.. on the airborne tire.
Check both sides this way. If there is play, you should be able to see where it coming from.
