Mine has never been "detailed" I just wipe it down every two weeks after a routine maintenance wash.

Nope. Standard garden nozzle. I have a high pressure washer but didn't even bother getting it out. Seems like more pressure would have a higher potential of causing issues with water getting into things it shouldn't.

Easy clean up job is pretty minimal in the effort department if you want to spruce it up a bit.

Warm motor -> spray it down with Simple Green -> let sit 10 minutes -> rinse off with garden hose.

    Low pressure rinse is fine.

Blowing high pressure water into places that are designed to resist water intrusion (not force) not so much.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Everyone look and laugh: he uses the prop rod.
Your fault for not using Toyota direct parts you install yourself.

Shit I can do that. I even have Simple Green in the house already. I guess I figured there was shit in there that you shouldn't hose down (fuse box, battery, K&N Warm Air Intake, stuff like that).

They're all generally sealed from intrusion. The hood is going to be up in the rain, some day.. so things are sealed to a certain degree.

Just use a low pressure rinse, and use minimal rinsing on areas with electronics and certainly exposed air filter elements.

Battery is fine, fuse box just don't soak it hard, and the intake... well... If it's in a box?

Make sure you're using Simple Green motorsport, it's safe for aluminum. Normal simple green isn't safe for aluminum.

I take mine down to the spray & wash place all the time and spray the hell out of it but I think the Simple Green stuff might make it better, I'm gonna give that a shot.

Oh, see, and I thought this was simple. How I gotta buy a special Simple Green. lol

Yeah it's dead of winter here. No garden hose action going on at my house. I did do the DIY car wash last week and it was single digits outside. Hot pressurized water. :)

You can grab a spray bottle at most auto stores, I got mine at Pep Boys I believe. Regular simple green can corrode aluminum if left on for more than 10 minutes or so. They recommend being very careful. I just use the auto version and don't worry!

I've never used anything other than regular SG.

    No problems here. @Kyitty

Of course, YMMV and all that.

simple green is pretty acidic. It can eat through metal, rust steel, make a mess of things. I'd suggest use one of the commercial engine cleaners, or use the engine clean selection at the local wand car wash. After rinsing off the dirt and getting it generally clean, spray the engine down with 303 protectant and then drive home. By the time you get home all the rubber and plastic will have a nice shine and the engine will look great. If you do choose to use simple green, rinse generously, then rinse again

I just used the auto version as it's aluminum safe. Easy trade over the "how long has it been on?!" concern.
