Ok got a stage 3 Icon lift cranked it up to the max recommended which is 2.13 threads showing, cut fender and did a cmc. No rubbing. Installed a c4 fab lopro front bumper and warn zeon platinum winch with c4 sliders. Now I am rubbing offroad. What are some options? I am running 285/70/17 duratracs. Obviously the weight is too much after it settled. Once i get my Mobtown steel skid on its only going to be worse. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What do you gain with the bigger tire? To me it would be easier to go down, especially with all the additional weight you're adding.

But if you want to stay that size and depending on where you're rubbing you can think about moving the tires out with spacers or wheels with a different offset.

Thanks for the reply. I am an avid off roader and actually want 35s. The bigger the tire the more clearance and less damage on the trail. Spacers? Tried those got hubcentric spacers made just for Toyota and got a slight shaking of the steering wheel. Removed them shake was gone not a huge spacer fan. The wheels are my second set. According to Icon they are made for the Tacoma with the offset and backspacing. I was thinking getting it higher. Without having to loose my icon 2.5 coilovers.

Get 700lb coils... you probably have 600s

700lb springs won't do anything for his rubbing problems. He needs to address the areas that are rubbing - fender liners, CMC, etc.

He already did a CMC... he didn't have rubbing issues until he added more weight to the front.. thus heavier coils should help some but he probably should CMC again and take more out

Right. I misread his post and thought he wrote he didn't do a CMC. Then his next step is proper alignment, or possibly spacers. It really depends on where his tires are rubbing and under what conditions.

If it's width that's rubbing then try a taller pizza cutter tire if you think that's going to work for you. Or compromise and go down to a 275 tire.

Seems to me you're cutting more off your truck to prevent damage with the bigger, heavier tire than providing any better clearance for the transfer and diff cases you're trying to protect in running them. Go up much higher and you'll need to think about drive line vibes or a diff drop.

You don't need 35s to offroad avidly

Smaller tires!? Cut more off the truck!?

You didn't rub before but do now with the extra weight. Get the stiffer coils and get your same ride height as before. That's it. You don't need an alignment. You don't need wheel spacers. You don't need smaller tires. Either people didn't bother to read your post or are just spewing out the constant incorrect info this forum is pretty good at.

Truck will "look cool" but it's going to ride like a fuckin wheelbarrow with that lift, added weight and stiff springs. Might as well tie a jackhammer to the frame and drive around with it on full power

See my post about this forum spewing incorrect info. You clearly didn't read the first post either.

P.S. My truck has almost this same lift and 35's. Guess what. It rides fine. :)

For what you gain in lift you're also going to sacrifice in stability. But hey since you know it all go ahead and give him all the answers

Can't wait to see this wheeling that requires 35" tires.

Please explain why he needs different tires? Or why he needs different alignment specs. I'm not saying you are wrong, I just want to know why.

He didn't rub before at a specific ride height. Then after adding more weight he rubbed. Adding stuff front springs to accommodate the extra weight gets him to same ride as pre-rubbing.

How will that not work? I honestly want to know.

Mine has a 2.5" lift? How is that any less stable than anyone else with the same lift? I just managed to fit 35's.

That's what I was thinking.... but fuck it, he needs clearance for the 285s so he has more room to stuff them and feel some real rubbing.
