What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Any particular reason?

 

I am wiring a set of piaa lights .

The kit comes with a switch pre wired but I would rather have them come on with my parking lights

Or have them always on .

Would I just tap the power wire off the parking lights ?

 

I have piaa 510s on a spdt ottraw switch, got power from my 12v outlet for only on with the truck and ran one from the high beams to it.

So you'd need 2 power wires, one from parking lights and other from the battery.

 

Soo. You want to blind everyone else on road?

 

No these are going on my bumper and will be angling the ground not ahead blinding people

Basically just want to have them come on when i engage the parking lights

Should be an easy tap.

 

Why not just have a switch, just in case you unintentionally blind people.

 

Beam might not be focused towards drivers but the bulb is still exposed in these and quite bright to look at.

 

I guess because It would be cleaner if it was more integrated.

But I see the point about blinding a JDM honda

 

I leave my PIAA 510 fogs on most of the time. They're quality lights and have a very good cutoff. He won't be blinding anyone.

 

I'm sure the Popo don't take too kindly to blindage either.

 

Fuck. I thought your truck transformed into a 3rd Gen with all those issues.

But still sounds like a good trail story.

Yes. They're quality fog lights and work great as such. They don't toss light uselessly everywhere like LED pods.

That doesn't mean they have a cutoff. Theres really no shielding for it to even produce one. My hellas are a driving pattern and they will blind the fuck out of anything in front of them

 

GOTCHA. yea you can prolly getaway with those. Thought you were referring to a regular fog beam offroad light.
