In his defense they are very different mufflers. The 40 can be pretty aggressive depending on tailpipe choice and tolerance....

I love my flowmaster 40 series. You can't hear em in fwy, no drone

 

Before you pull a trigger check what the diameter of the piping on your truck's exhaust is. 2.25' or 2.5". You'll save yourself fun if you decide to buy it yourself and take it into a shop.

Yup. It was a bit too tame for me at first. I liked the sound but it wasn't enough. So I went BlackWidow!

How's the blackwidow treating you? I was to scared Togo louder, did some research on them but I don't find to much on taco world using them.

 

I love it, it's a bit too loud for the lady but she still sleeps like a dead body on long trips. It's definitely more present in the cab but not in an unappealing "drone"/resonating way where it's echoing in your head. Mine is dumped under the bed in front of the rear axle just like my Flow 40 was.

 

Damn there's so many directions you can go when building a long travel route. Been scouring TTora, Pirate4x4, TW and race dezzert for various builds and information
