Yeah, look into them. I did alot of research before getting mine. Pretty good warranty from what i remember, 60k maybe.
I think I ended up paying around 160 each in the end from a local chain tire place.
I think i could have gotten a better deal online.

If you're spending $400 on BFG K02's you're either buying a huge size or getting ripped of.

I just put on a full set of 285/70-17's on mine and they were under $1200 mounted balanced and out the door. That's a lot less than $400/tire.

+$400 as in $400 more than what I would already spend on the tires I was looking into. Sorry if that was confusing.

Gotcha. Maybe I misread it. I was tight on funds when I went the BFG route too. I had a Expedition two years ago that needed tires and I opted out of waiting on the K02s (it was right about the time that BFG was transitioning) so I went with Toyo. Never knew how great the BFGs were until I owned a set. They are hands down worth their price. I replaced the stock tires on my 2012 and the ride was unchanged. UFB. Just my 2¢...

Thanks man, that helps. I would be pretty pissed if I spent $650+ on tires and still had the same sliding issues.

BTW, these are what I have now :pout:I love the wheels but tires absolutely suck!!!

Ha! These are the noisiest tire I have ran in an AT. Guess that's what makes forums great, opinions. I can't wait to wear these things out.

I've been running Grabber AT2's on my Taco in Colorado for 2 years / 30k miles and they've been great in all weather conditions. Still at 11/32" tread, so probably have another 20k miles in them at least. Really great tire for the money.

I've had my Cooper Discoverer AT3s for a little over 2 years and almost 25k miles, they're still pretty darn new looking.
I love them, but next time I'm gonna try the General Grabbers for comparison.

Tirebuyer.com has good prices on Falken Wildpeak AT3W's. Got my set of 285's for 600 bucks.

Thanks for that website, they beat Discount Tire on a few of the one's I'm looking at. Maybe I'll see if they can match pricing.

What a difference for the same tire model. The more expensive ones have a better load rating and are a "light truck" tire..?

The tires on the left are "Standard Load" which is the same load rating that your Tacoma came with. The tires on the right are "E" load which are significantly heavier. Unless you plan on driving on shale or punji pits, get the standard load. E load tires will also hurt MPG's, acceleration, and have a harsher ride.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
I just drove over the mountains here in BC, jack knifed and spun out semis from the snow on the hills.
My KO2s did great. I run them around 30psi when it gets bad out
I do like the look of the coopers and nitto tires as well
