Its long enough, with my head at the back window I still had plenty of room at my feet. Its just not wide enough for me.

Yeah. 2 people would be ok as long as you sleep shoulder to shoulder lol. Me and the dog slept in there for 1 night and he fuckin stretches all the way out so I was crammed against the wall lol

 

yeah that wouldnt work. She rolls around like a seal in her sleep. Im looking at the Kukenum XL or the Autana.

 

Yeah I'm gonna move up to the Kukeman XL ruggedized at some point. Prob when I get my bonus in March. Lookin' at you @Box Rocket

Hey all,

Can someone with a CVT Mt. Shasta Standard Pioneer let me know the height of the closed tent to two places?

1. The "front corner" of the tent (i.e. where there is no ladder)
2. The "top of the ladder" (the thickest part of the tent)

On @Cascadia Tents site they list the closed height at 15.5", and I'm not sure if that's to the top of the ladder or if the ladder sticks above that.

Anyone using a CVT anti-condensation mat? My friend got one and it came in two pieces with a few screws and washers. Are you just supposed to screw them in on the four corners? No instructions on the use and without them being attached, one side falls out when you fold up the tent. @YoungGunz

 

Is the slide ladder better than the telescoping one? One side of my telescoping ladder keeps caving in I'm hoping the slide ladder is more secure.

 

I'm having this problem with my ladder at the one half-rung lock out. All the others work fine... The sliding one is definitely not better though. Rickety and with less positions out of box unless you modify, at least in my experience.

 

Really? It doesn't have a stronger locking mechanism? Damnit!

 

Just installed one today. It uses those spring loaded pegs that fall in to various notches along the upper half. My friend mounted it on bed bars, so it was low and there were only notches for a higher setup. We ended up drilling 3 extra holes on each side. Not hard, but the telescoping one I have is definitely nicer.

 

Mine's pretty solid but any adjustments in length require drilling new holes for the stops. The ARB doesn't come with pre-drilled holes so it can be annoying trying to get it in position to support the tent and at a decent angle.

 

It hasn't caused me $125 worth of annoyance yet, but I was just looking at the telescoping ladders on Tepui and CVT websites earlier this morning. It's going to happen sooner or later.

 

This was my idea was to put on the tepui one.

 

When I am traveling and camping I always have the drill and drill bits with me anyways so it hasn't been an issue for me. And now I have enough holes in the slide that I did not have to drill any new ones last season.

 

Yeah the Telescoping ladder is definitely a win over the other. I for one don't want to have to be drilling holes in the ladder based on where I'm parked. If it works for you it works for you, just my personal preference.
