BFG AT/KO, Michelin LTX/AT2, or Dueler Revo???

BFG AT/KO, Michelin LTX/AT2, or Dueler Revo??

Give your opinions on these three...pros and cons?? They all rate pretty equally on Tire Rack. I have never owned a set of Bridgestone's so I'm a bit skeptical. Had great luck with Michelin car tires and the BFG AT's before.

Chime in and help me make my decison!!

 

dueler revo 2's are the best in my opinion, the others wear too quickly

 

That's interesting...user reveiws on Tire Rack have the Revo's rated lowest of the three in tread life rating.

Hey, I am getting BFG AT T/A ko's on mine this spring because of the terrain I drive in... being that, consider what you drive, The Michelin LTX A/T's last longer then the A/T2 but your giving up traction, but both outlast all. the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo2 is a street tread with A/T features, but not a very aggressive tread, its a much harder tire which does not help with traction or the ride. The BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KOs are the most aggresive of these choices, but the one that wears the fastest, its an all terrain tread that they made road friendly.
Also if you carry alot of load, trailer or a full truck, the Michelin LTX and the Bridgestone Dueler are more suited for the hauling aspect of it, but it means nothing if you don't have the traction to get you there.
I put in a few years at a tire shop here and have seen lots of whats out there, but am still learning to, hope this helps.

I vote the Goodyear Dura Tracs. I have them on my truck and love them. We just like 8" of snow and it pushes through everything. I felt unstopable this morning... Otherwise as for the wear, i have around 6k miles so far and have lost no tread.

 

I had the BFG's on my last truck and was semi-impressed. They wore down pretty quickly. I'm going to get Duratracs shortly on my Taco as I've heard nothing but good things about them. As for your other two choices, I'm not sure.

 

Good info chaser...I'm leaning toward the Michelins because I don't necessarily need the tread of the BFG....but I sure do like the looks. I've had the BFG's on both of my CJ's and they have very reliable. Just don't know if I want them on my daily driver.

To the Goodyear folks...thanks for the input, but I don't do Goodyear for personal reasons...

 

I had the BFG's on my Tundra for about 6 months before I sold the truck. Ride was good but the only thing I didn't like about it was that the tread design seemed to pick up a lot of rocks. Well, that and it was a pretty heavy tire, 15lbs heavier than stock.

When I get new tires for the Taco I'm going to get the Revo 2's. As a side note, Tire Rack shows that it's only 2 lbs heavier than stock even with the 265/75's so that should help with the mileage.

Over 30K on my Revos and still a lot left in them. Traction wise I do not believe there is much of a difference maybe a slight edge to the BFG's offroad but the BFG's do not come close in on road testing. I have the BFG's on my 2003 Wrangler and have had many sets before. If I do not go with Revos when I need new tires (not for another 10-15K miles at least) then I might try the Hankook Dynapros RF10's I read a tire review were they beat out the BFG and Toyo AT tires head to head.

The Michelin's are a great tire. I'm running them right now and I'd recommend them in a heartbeat.

IMHO, yes. They weren't that much more expensive than other premium tires up here and if they are like every other Michelin I've ever owned, they'll out last them all. They also ride great, have excellent traction, etc.

 

This is funny.... I was in the same exact dilemma on tires. I reviewed everywhere.... I went with the michelins. The michelins ltx at2 are awesome!!!! I am running a 265 75 16. It looks great and sits higher; they are not as aggressive looking but why buy tires for just looks when they may be crappy in performance.

I went with the load E tire. Yes it was a lil more expensive but hey I got more tread depth now. In the rain these tires are awesome... This was not advised at all but I had to go to the airport and was 30 mins late and it was raining hard, I was traveling via interstate (traffic not present) and we'll just say I was going um.... faster like 5 over posted... and they didn't slide or anything at all. With my earlier rugged fails I was going 50 on the interstate (well below posted speed) and I was hydroplaning like crazy..... Offroad these tires are great too. I go through mud like its nothing... and I'm only 2wd with locker... So yeah there good.

Edit: once again speeding is not advised....

 

the last set of BFG A/T's i had, i put 60k on them. they still had at least 5k left in them. so i went right back with the BFG's. i think they are an awesome tire.

 

I just pulled the trigger on the michelin ltx at 2 a few months ago. so far the best tires I have ever owned. They have a great tread pattern and from what I have read they have the longest tread life by far. I live in the frozen north and these puppys go through everything snow ice ect.... They have very little road noise. Got them road force ballanced at toyota and they only needed 1 30 weight they ballanced just great... Worth the extra money forsure. 31x10.5x15 Michelin rocks will never buy anything else again I have had BFG's and they are the best looking but everything else gos to michelin LTX AT 2..
