I think we are somewhere between three and five people right now.

If I were to venture a guess, I think a lot of people want a minimal effort PnP solution, like the UCON. The MAP-ECU is all end-user programming so like @Torspd said earlier in this thread, it all depends on how much time you, as the operator, want to spend on tuning your truck to suit your needs. The benefit (in my mind) is that you will learn your engine and truck to a much deeper and intimate degree than just sending off datalogs.

    Well...

If it's okay with @TacoCat (I do not want to step on any toes), let's continue to promote this with a tentative target date of February 3rd, which is a Friday and covers the complete month of January and while finishing out the week.

January 31st is a Tuesday and pay day for most people is on Friday.

Once we're there, let's evaluate how many people are actually dedicated to this; if we are lucky and have ten people we'll receive a larger discount. I would hate to piecemeal this GB into groups of two only to find out we could have saved more if there are ten or more folks who ultimately commit to purchasing the MAP-ECU3. At the very least, it's more time to save, promote interest, and research.

    What do y'all think?

I'm sort of on the fence. I can do the install, but I'm not all that interested in tuning it. If I could find someone reputable to tune it at a reasonable rate it might be more attractive.

Tuning isn't really in my wheelhouse, which makes the UCON more attractive even though there is a big price difference.

that and shipping for 2 units is almost $19 for me where 10 units was only 28, I realize that's only $6 difference per person but nickles and dimes are nickles and dimes. I'm also gonna see if I can get in touch with gadget to find out for sure if anything is needed to open loop tuning with these as well and ill post some info up in here, we can add those if need be as well

The tuning is definitely a bothersome area for me as well. I would hate to order this, then have it sit on the shelf for who knows how long. I may need to take the time before the 3rd to find someone who can tune it..

I'm down for waiting. like I said, gives me more time to figure everything else out, plus save money.

the people I have seen on here with them say they are pretty straight forward and there are several videos on the youtube, I also feel like most of the members on here wouldn't have a problem talking us thru it, and we can keep this thread going for all of us to kinda learn together and ask and answer questions as they come up

Kozmic Motorsports is who @Torspd uses, or at least used to use, here in Houston. He recommends them, so they're worth a shot.

I'm with you. Just because I earn a paycheck doesn't mean I have to spend it. I'd like to maximize my dollar to its maximum.

@XPOTRPR Tuning is a big concern for me, but the way I look at it is that this is an opportunity to learn (be smart, learn from your mistakes; be brilliant and learn from the mistakes of others :D) and ultimately, like @TacoCat said, we have a community here with which to share ideas and troubleshoot with some capable and helpful folks.

I mean, why can one person learn something and we can't?
