I am down for just about any weekend as well. I did not noticed you lived so close! we could do the lakeshore trails, I know there is a small river crossing @JKU3000 and I have been wanting to do.

 

I'm down. May need some beer though. River crossings are hell on my liver.

I'm google mapping 'lakeshore' and I'm seeing just SW of the zoo. Can you show me where in a screenshot or something so I can do a little investimigating since I ain't got shit else to do in the office?

 

Well don't touch main cable, that's engineering. I can change ports fusion splice tails and test.

That looks like it's on Southern Co. right-of-way, ain't it? You boys ever been out there before?

 

I work for Southern Light which is out of Mobile. We use AT&T COs as we are growing. What we normally do is set a HH outside of the CO and then yall have to core drill the AT&T MH and pull our fiber from the vault through the AT&T MH and into our HHs. (wish AT&T would just let us do that) I have the hardest time in the world trying to get the AT&T process completed for us! Didn't know if you ever did anything like that?

We are actually about to be hiring a head splicer for the Huntsville area. The hrs might not be to much better starting out though. I usually work 60+ a week in my position.

yea, I have been out there a few times just new crossed that river. I have never even seen it, @JKU3000 was telling me about it.

 

Should be an easy fix.....

 

There is a decorative arch in the bricks over the garage doors and there is 2 right beside each other on the front of the house so they would both have to be raise to make it look right. I am not looking to tackle that.

 

I'm all about it. My folks will be in town this weekend so maybe the following. Or the 2nd if everybody is off?

 

I would actually just remove the decorative arch and bust everything below the first mortar seam out. Then just raise the header and reframe the door opening. I bet I could do it in a weekend easy...but that just seams a little insane

 

Nice!! I can do the 2nd or the next weekend, either works for me.

 

I'll have the same problem when I install a CB. It's sad that I have 12' ceilings in my garage and a 7.5' door. Huge oversight by me and my builder.

 

Ouch! I would like to build a house one day and it will have at least 3 car garage with BIG doors!

might take a little into a second day. There is not that much to it once you get the bricks off.

I'd love to get away from at&t. I have a fiber splicer and installer cert, as well as the training at&t gave me. But I don't personally handle the main fiber lines. That construction and engineering.

 

It's ridiculous that's it's hot enough in December to ride. But I'm not complaining.
