What to do about this dent in bedside panel...?

As you can see, it's a pretty nasty dent, creases and everything.
It was like that when I got the truck, which is the main reason why it was so cheap.
I've looked into fiberglass fenders, replacing the whole damn bed with one from a junk yard, to taking it to a body shop and seeing what they can do about pulling out what they can and going nuts with Bondo...
Any thoughts/ideas?
I don't mind spending money, as long as it's actually worth it.
I do have an aluminum ultility topper on it now, not sure that fiberglass fenders can support it.

Do nothing and just roll with it. Or sand the rusted spots, prime and paint those and leave the dent.

Find a high clearance rear bumper it'll require you to cut most that area off anyways and provide you a lot of trail protection down the line.

 

Fiberglass fenders are meant for lt and would look silly if you didn't add any width.

Get under truck with junk of wood and bfh and beat it out the best you can and see how happy you are with it.

Quickest easiest option with the least amount of downtime would be to just get a whole "new" bed.

 

This costed 2,000 bucks to fix, if you wanted any insight.

You all did see that the original poster had a 2x4 Tacoma right? One that does not go off-roading (just speculating here). An off-road high Clearence bumper might look rediculous imo.

 

There are. But this is just a little 5 lugger. Hig clearance bumper would look out of place.

 

Pulling then bondo is probably best bet. Beds in dallas fort worth are around, costs hover around 500.

Have a shop give hou a quote, then compare to what a bed would cost. I really dont like body damage either, i feel your itch to get it fixed.

 

Leave the battle scars. Do something to treat the rust and prevent it from getting worse. Spend very little and let your truck keep it's utilitarian attitude.

In the future, dually rear end and flat deck!

 

Thanks for all the replies, fabbing up a high clearance bumper would probably be my best bet, I've got a welder, but I have several friends that are way better at fabbing than I am.
I was planning on lifting it eventually anyway, I was spoiled on my old lifted prerunner, I hate feeling like I'm driving a car.
I don't take it on trails, just on job sites.
I'm gonna see what we could maybe fab up using the existing bumper and cutting/welding/bolting onto it...sounds like a fun (and fairly inexpensive) project to me

You can buy a complete bedside for around $400 bucks. They are surprisingly easy to change as long as you a have a spot weld cutter and a welder to tack weld the new side on.

 

i made this one, something like it and you could get rid of most of your dent

 

If you have a paintless dent removal professional in your area, they can remove that for about 400-600. It will look great in the end too with out using anything that will damage the paint. If you're in the Bay Area, I can give some names.

 

It is your truck me I don`t even notice little things like that

 

My truck has so much body damage that it is almost comical to me. Most of it being the passenger side from the rear quarter glass back. It's how I got the truck. I spent hours, and hours, and more hours using wood, broken off wooden broom handles, pry bars, and all sorts of other things to pull and remove most of it. I need to hit it up now with a huge sander and get it with some putty and paint.

But that area you have was by far the hardest because of the way the truck was built back there. It took me the longest. I'll try and upload a pic of the before and after but yea, if you want it perfect you'll need a professional. If you are the do it yourself type person and want to save a lot of money, then get you some tools and get at it.
