    I am actually wondering....

I was replying to an Email... working on another project for the truck.

Same here... hope it is something easy to fix!

My stock positive terminal was all sorts of corroded when I did my dual battery setup. Maybe it's got a bad connection coming from the alternator.

Either of you Texas guys be interested in the Pelfreybilt/BlueSea setup that I have in the red there? Would come with the Positive and Negative cables for the battery as well. Essentially just bolt in and start wiring.

Thinking of redoing the wiring for the truck and am looking at a small Blue Sea fuse panel mounted off the battery and where that current set up is put a Bussmann RTMR from TacomaPros.

Really want to clean up all the wiring and everything in the engine bay and what goes into the truck.

I had to remove my RTMR in that location for my supercharger coolant reservoir :(

All my aux electronics are down (minus the winch) until I come up with a solution. If I wind up having to mount my RTMR in a different bracket I'll give you mine that fits there.

Well I did go through some mud holes this weekend and been washing the underside every other day to get mud off. I did it this morning before I left to come back home. You think this might have something to do with it?

Quite possibly. Alternators are pretty tough and it's unlikely that yours has shit the bed already. You could have knocked a plug out if washing hard enough in the right spot.

Sounds about right for for a battery to die on ya if not charging. When you jump it, does the truck stay running till you cut the ignition? If it stays running then the battery is likely shot and your alternator is doing its job.

Take the battery to auto zone or O'Reilly they can test it for you to see if it's bad. It probably is.

Dammit man I still have my stock battery just sitting in the garage in prefect condition... if yours had died up here you could have had mine.

If you've got a multimeter you can set it to read voltage and test the battery yourself. I forget the voltage threshold it should be above... probably 12.1 is the lower limit. If it's below that after a three hour drive its bad.

Dang that sucks. Looking at the Bussmann, I think it is something I am going to pursue, it would help to clean up a ton of wiring and make future addons very easy to hook up. Let me know on that bracket then.

I would test out the battery then from what you say. May be time to upgrade to a better one?
