Have you seen the poll where more than 75% of new gen owners have never had any problems?

I highly recommend you don't get one if you will be searching here for problems that you might never have. Don't get suckered into thinking that all have serious issues. But, if people are dumb enough to cancel an order because of what they read in one board, then maybe they shouldn't own one.

I might have a hesitation if I were going from a 2nd gen, simply because he already knows his truck. FWIW I voted in a poll on here somewhere and said I had no issues. It was true at the time, at approx. 1500 miles. Shortly after that I started noticing the vibe issues. I have no doubt there are 3rd gens out there that are flawless, most probably are. I'm just not in that group.

Elduder, Have you modified your Tacoma in any way?
Vibrations and many other issues can be related to aftermarket lifts and other aftermarket mods. Those are not manufacturer caused problem. Those are problems created by the mods or the parts used to change the original stance, geometry or performance of the truck.
Wonder how many of the owners with issues have had modifications done, and how many without issues, have never modified their trucks?
I learned a long time ago, that if I want to avoid issues with any vehicles, I leave them alone...

Yes. However the vibes when slowing down were there before any mods went on, as well as on 3 other stock new trucks I test drove (TSB for that I believe). The needle bearing vibe occurred after my lift,I wont deny that I'm at least responsible for accelerating its failure, but there's more than enough evidence that they fail stock, including the stock new 3rd gen I test drove that already had a bad one with 40 miles on the clock. As far as this potential CSPS issue, no I dont believe the lift or my appearance mods had any correlation.

Try not let to turn this into a second gen vs third gen thread.

OP asked for that in his first post.

Not at all intended by my post, more so meant "the devil you know" kind of thing. For me, better to stay with what you know, if you have any doubts.

Since the post was updated, all I can say is I had vibrations stock and have noticed different vibrations that are not small enough to be ignored on 4 of the 5 2016s I test drove before purchasing my current 2017. I had a 2016 that I traded in as well for the 2017 since I could not stand the AT. It also had both a rumble strip vibe below 20 and the needle bearing vibe at 40, it was never modified. All I can say to the issue of vibrations is that given I've driven 5 different 2016s and 1 2017, 5 of which were stock, that there is an issue there considering 4 stock trucks vibrated and my modded 2017 does too.

Same thing happened to me yesterday on the way to work. Went into a limp mode with 'check charging system, low oil pressure, and high transmission oil temp' red warning messages. Had to tow it to the dealer. They called me earlier today and said they think its an electrical short issue and the fuel pump wasn't getting enough fuel to power the engine, but not entirely sure yet. Still waiting to hear back.

If it wasn't the CPS, it will probably happen again. Hopefully that fixes it.

Updated again, I'm thinking is probable that its not the CPS.

Thanks for that, will keep it in mind regarding future trouble shooting if necessary. Did you notice any misfire or sputtering?

Yeah the truck would sputter, would not go over 5 mph, and stall
