Front end vibration after lift

Question: Does this happen to everyone after the lift? I just lifted with full OME medium load kit (888, 90000, Dakars and FK29 driveshaft spacer) and not really experiencing any vibrations ... at least I think I don't have any vibrations.

To be honest, I don't really know what to look for ... I tried driving slow, real slow, fast ... but nothing so far

To folks that are experiencing this issue, can you please elaborate more on the vibration - meaning, what should I be looking for?

 

For me it was obvious on the first drive after my lift. It was a whirling sound and when I put it in 4high it went away so I know it was the needle bearing. I wouldn't mess with it if you don't notice anything, I'm jealous lol. Now I have to get it aligned again my mechanic didn't get it as it pulls a bit to the right and I get occasional steering wheel shake.

 

It will come back, Toyota hasn't actually addressed this issue that began in 94'

ECGS told me that many dealers buy their bushing as well, and that certain Toyota documents reference a third party bushing.

 

Do the ECGS bushing. Over time the needle bearings will mushroom the CV and then the CV won't fit the new bushing.

Go under your truck and grab the driver CV, you will be amazed with how much movement it has. Mine now has zero with the ECGS bushing.

I heard though that once it starts it won't go away when returned to stock.

 

I had mine replaced and the noise was gone. The shop I took it to needed only an hour and a half to do it. I actually test drove a stock 2016 that already had the vibe.

 

Yea, I'm going to do it. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

We should do some type of "group buy" on the tool. Like anybody that wants it kicks in $10 and we just pass it around.

 

I saw a guy post that if you paid shipping he would lend you his tool, don't know who or where but there is someone willing to lend it out.

I think I spoke too soon.

Engaged 4wd (4H) today and I'm hearing some rumbling at low speeds, around 15-25mph (unsure if present during highe speeds, bad hearing lol). Rumbling comes and goes, however 4wd seems unaffected. Thoughts?

 

I've had two different 2016's and they both immediately had the vibes upon lifting. Like as I'm leaving the parking lot.

 

Anyone have the bushing fix the issue but also having 4wd not affect the vibration? I definitely have the symptoms of needing the bushing but it’s not affected by putting it into 4hi. The vibration is still there.

 

I am having the same problem and it seems to be getting worse

I just installed Fox 2.5's all around with Icon rxt for the rear without the extra leaf installed. The front is set around 2.75" of lift and the back is lifted around 1.7 or so. I did the bushing install and it helped for a day or so and now im getting the rumble strip vibration when slowing down which I didnt before... and also a high speed vibration in the front that gets worse the fast I go. I installed a cb drop and diff drop. I tried taking off the diff drop and it got worse. I really dont know what else to do other than remove everything and take it back to the dealer to see if they can find something wrong with my front diff. Before i do all that i am going to try and get some angle measurements of the driveshaft and pinion.

I'm in Houston and have been tryjing to find a Taco guru or something down here. I have been round and round with different people trying to get this damn truck balanced out.

Did you add any shims to the leaf springs? That is my next attempt at this.

 

No shims just yet but I'm all ears it it works

 

I’m having this same issue. Goes away in 4x4. Going to try the needle bearing replacement to see if that works.

 

Got the Eibach stage 1 lift on my ‘16 OR about a month ago. Noticed the vibration below 40mph immediately. Someone on the Eibach page mentioned the ECGS going out. I thought, really. JUST lifted my truck and the bearing goes bad—what are the odds?!? “ECGS/ECGS bearing/ECGS bushing” gets thrown around a lot, like it’s the name of a factory part, not the name of the company who makes an after market bushing to solve the oem needle bearing shortcoming. Made me skeptical of all those saying ‘oh yeah, it’s definitely the ECGS’. Glad I found this page. Exactly what I’m experiencing. Adding it to the list...
