So I noticed today that I have one or 2 small rock chips on the lower half of my passenger door. Must be from random rocks kicking up. I have mud guards front and back. I go on a lot of dirt and rocky roads. I can hear rocks still kicking up and either hitting the bottom of the truck or the bumpy protective area on the door. It annoys me that I have a chip above that. I can touchup the thing bUT I am OCD about things like that..
So question is. Has anyone put on vinyl or anything to protect the lower doors? I know rock sliders with the plating would help but I was also thinking like a flat black vinyl with the quicksand... Any ideas?

Not sure how high you want to go but XPEL is like a vinyl or something that you install/apply. They make a clear one as well as some other products.

    Gravel Guard is a spray.

I have not used any of these products.

Yea this paint is literally like a damn eggshell. My front bumper already has several black spots showing under where there was once white paint

Yeah I would like flat black to just go up to almost the top of the "bulging" part before the line. I have tried installing the clear bra on the front and it was a shit show. I had the front hood and sides done from the factory. I got a company do the the entire grill and bumper.

Yeah Smitty. I hear you on that one. I had chips on the bumper and grill before it had 4k miles on it. I did the Dr. Colorchip and you can't even see them. As said in the other quote, I got tired of it and had a company install the clear bra to the whole front end before I drove to Alaska. Worked great! I would like to do something to the lower doors but I want it to possibly be as a accent like flat black or something...Ill have to see about xpel.
I did see some black black vinyl stuff on Amazon or ebay that has Tacoma written into it. Thinking debadge and put something like that on it.

Its to bad the Linex has not come up with something like a rubber that sprays on like plastidip and can just peel off, like a panel. Just have the protection of Line-x
