That works out to 54 watts, but the relevant info for loudness is the db rating because different efficiencies. The Hellas might be 42w but they are probably still higher db for sure.

 

I am used to looking because i deal with many different DC voltages, using the wrong one can reek havoc on an electrical system

One of my "noob" co-workers installed a 12v horn on a 48v lift, couldn't figure out why the steering column started smoking and spitting fire, it wasn't pretty

In his defense, they are the same size and look identical.... but they are clearly marked.

Thanks, I can math. Was just polling the audience because I didn't see it earlier. Was hoping the amperage would be low enough to run all 4 off factory wiring but it's not.

That's my plan, cause I want air horn on a separate switch, I just need one of them fancy boxes, but I'm not in a rush.

 

you'll have a slight delay from the horns on relay, may or may not be noticeable, or annoying

Yea I thought I might.. Tempting to just run the new ones. Makes wiring easier too.

 

they may be, but adding another set on relay also, they won't activate equally. if second relay is fed off first there is that delay as well. resistance in wiring and connections, murphy's law, quite the conundrum it is.

Yeah I have no idea, I can probably wait the fraction of a second for them to pee their pants.

air horns tend to have a delay anyway unless the pressure is right at the horn when released (gotta compress what air is already in the line if its got any length to it), you'll never notice the electronic delay if the pressure and solenoid aren't right at the horn.

 

I don't believe factory worns are on relays.

yeah. i mean i could deal with the under hood area give it a custom look you know? how hard is it to redo the door frames? i have an access cab so i only have the door frame no split bar to worry about either.
