I did the 885's with 5100's and a wheeler tri-pac. I was expecting not to get the dreaded VIBE. Considering I only raised 1.5" all around. First of all is there any harm in just leaving it. I'll probably try the ECGS bearing. I have a friend with the puller. It worked on his 06'.

Mine has that vibe where if you're slowing down it vibrates from 20mph down to around 10mph. Feels similar to when you run over a rumble strip on the side of the road. I've been in stop and go traffic on the highway, and if the vibration starts and you maintain the speed at ~15mph the vibration will remain constant until you slow down or speed back up.

It has gotten better after 10k miles, but I can still feel it. Last week I installed 265/75r16 Duratracs, 5100's @0.85, and it didn't get worse or anything but I can still notice it. The new tires seem to have possibly dampened it a bit (possibly from the extra mass), but it's hard to say for certain.

When the truck had lower miles on it sometimes it was bad enough to vibrate the dash, but that has not really happened in a while. The vibration is definitely still there, but maybe I've just gotten used to it.

The thing that really annoys me the most is the hesitation in partial throttle acceleration around 2500rpm.

Complaining about these things really makes it seem worse than it is though. It's not that bad for my truck. However, when I've driven plenty of other vehicles from Toyota, including a 4Runner which shares a very similar chassis and drivetrain, and never experienced these issues, I just kind of go, "why on the Tacoma?"

I agree, it's not too bad. I had my rear springs replaced for the rumble strip and it's 99% gone now.

What about the TSB as an option? That's what I did. No vibe now.

    Yeah. Google this...

    T-SB-0026-15

It's a new Toyota needle bearing with tighter tolerances.

Why does it seem like all the OME lifts report this but none of the others?

I have 5100's at 0.85 and Eibach coils (total ~2.5), so not only OME.

So... yeah just realized this was in the 3rd gen forum. I read somewhere that they used the new (TSB) bearing design starting with the 3rd gens, so that's interesting.

I've had my fox 2.5 lifted to 3.5" for a couple of weeks and no vibes issues at the time. Currently ride at 3" lift have noticed the vibe here and there but never stays for long. I mostly turn 4wd high on for a few secs than back off and all is good for about a month.

Tsb done at 350 miles. Vibe came back at 500 miles. Ecgs bushing installed at 700 miles. So far no vibe at 1600 miles. All work done and paid for by Toyota.

Was your lift also done by Toyota or just the ecgs? They didn't care about the mods

Yes, the truck already had the lift when I bought it. This happens to non lifted trucks too. If it's under 3 inches they may honor it? All depends on them. They may only replace it with another bearing like they did me the first time. I told them about the bushing and they agreed to try it.

I just ordered the bushing. Going to have an independent shop install it. Don't like dealing with the dealer I bought it from. The service department doesn't believe in lifts or levels. Told me to my face that their trucks look amazing how they arrive from the factory.
