Well I feel fortunate. I was down to 187 before Thanksgiving and I hadn't stepped on a scale until this morning. I figured why torture myself through the holidays when I know I'm going to eat goodies anyway...,

Up to 190. Gained 3 lbs.

Now I'm going back at it full throttle. My goal is 175 by May 12, my 50th birthday.

Same. My last 3 years have been the least active of my life.

I'll be weighing myself this week when it's convenient to do so.. will figure out my short term goal after that.

I suffered a bulged disk over the summer, the result of pushing a little too hard on a 12 mile bike ride. The disk was pinching the sciatic nerve, as a result I suffered tremendous pain from my ass to my ankle. I couldn't walk 25 feet or stand without tremendous pain. So for about 4-5 months I was dead in the water, no excercise at all. Better now thanks to PT but I'm taking it slow. Please whatever you do be careful, this injury has set me way back. Be careful out there

Thanks Blackout...worse pain I've ever experienced and I've been through some shit. By nature I push myself pretty hard so I am learning to pace myself. My goal is to be back to 217 by July.
Congrats on the weight man, whatever your goal is a I'm sure you'll make it. Don't get discouraged if ya fall off of the food wagon once and awhile, it's gonna happen. Just keep pushing.

I had the sciatic pain thing going on, too. That really shuts you down! Still get some tingling in my leg now and then.

    222. Down a couple. Really missing my work outs. This time of year motivation is in the shitter. Time is pretty scarce, too.

    You got this, keep going!!!!

Went on a 1 week trip to the eastern seaboard to visit some family this past week and lost weight while I was up there so I'm excited about that.
Saturday I plan on getting up and doing a 5K if I feel well enough to, right now I have a killer cough but I think being active will help kill it.

My brother tossed out the idea of us "getting back into fighting shape" and taking a trip in about a year and a half.

    To Antarctica.

He's in worse shape than me - sedentary jobs are the new smoking, and his job has him immobile 10 hours a day. Hoping this will really motivate us to get back into good enough fitness for that kind of travel, because this would put him at all 7 continents visited.

I've got my own thing going between me and my Fitbit Blaze.

Thanksgiving to Christmas undid some of my November loss. Gotta get that back.

Walked/jogged the bridge today, 2.6 miles in 40 minutes, first workout i've tracked since July.
Most likely going to be starting a new job and I'll be working from 04:00-09:00 so after I get off of work I plan on hitting the bridge twice a week.

Outstanding! The wife and just got back from doing a lap at the mall.

Bought a couple, tasteless Michelob Ultras to drink while ringing in the New year.

So many wonderful beers and I gotta drink this shit! What are ya gonna do? I'm in for the duration.

Best wishes and encouragement to the team. Let's own 2017!

    Later

Gonna end the year a couple of pounds above my goal of 160 at 162. That means that I ended the year about 25 lbs smaller than I started it. Woohoo!

Hasn't been without the setbacks. Fell off the horse, started skipping the workouts, going out and drinking and eating bar food with my friends too often and weight went up. Been laid up due to foot surgery for a couple of weeks, but that means I'm mainly eating my own food. Shocking when you stop drinking alcohol and eating crap how your body does. Hopefully by February, I'm back up and going.

I think I would still call that a win.

    I'm down 7 for a year of watching what I eat. I'm happy...mostly.

2017 will be a year of change. I appreciate everyone's post and it is a reminder that I'm not alone in this battle. Food is my drug of choice and with a little will power I can lose the weight and I'm sure you guys will too. Have a safe evening and Happy New Year to all of you.
