The heater core is dead center in the dash against the firewall. What are looking to gain in that area that you want to remove it?

I'm looking to relocate my fuse box and have room for misc electronics.....I just want to make sure I'll still be able to use my air conditioning without affecting any of the a/c ducting

The air passes through the AC evaporator core then through the heater core. Well, there's a blend door that will direct the air around the heater core or through it. In any case, the heater core is inside the duct, so if you are trying to create space by removing the heater core, then you'd have to make a new, smaller duct or modify it in some way. You could put the electronics inside the duct where the heater core was, but I don't think that's what you want to do.

Thank you for your response, so if I remove my heater core, I would need to fabricate new ducting to route the air conditioning correct?

#Hawaiianproblems lol even in Southwestern US that heater core would be dearly missed - one of these days I'll make it to the land of the heater core delete.

The heater core is housed inside of the plastic duct, so if you just got rid of the heater core but kept the duct, then the AC would still work, but you wouldn't have created any extra space. Do you understand? I am speaking of the core and duct as separate parts.

You could just take everything out after the AC evaporator core. The AC would just blow all the cold air under the dash instead of through the vents. In a small Tacoma cab that may be good enough.

I guess it depends on how much time, effort and money you want to spend. I'm sure with enough of those things you could make a new smaller duct to route the air to the vents. I just find it hard to believe that you ran out of extra space to put electronics that you need to squeeze out such a relatively small amount of space that the heater core takes up.
