I went through Hagerty's which is a classic car insurance policy. They agreed to cover the price I paid for the vehicle in the event of loss. There are provisions where I have to keep it garaged when not in use and I have to have another vehicle that's my main daily driver etc.

Understood, State Farm asked me if I wanted a collector car plan that came with a limited mile restriction and I refused because we DD it regularly so they came up with the plan that we have. I need to go back to them for our new Australian camper trailer and figure out another odd-ball policy.

Yeah, limited mileage is a provision too that I have. Where did you go through to get an Aussie trailer?

I got mine from Bruce Loxton at Kimberley Kampers. I had studied all of the available off-road capable trailers here in the states and found them all to be about the same price as the well built Aussie trailers but with less features and options. After the conversion from AUD to USD and the removal of the included VAT from the price the Platinum edition Kamper was the same price as a moderately equipped Moby with plenty more for the money and a much shorter wait from invoice to delivery.

That's pretty awesome! Thanks for the info. And I forgot to mention you have a nice Land Cruiser. That color is amazing!

That looks like a nice traveler, not bagging on it but this 19' Trailmanor is proving to be a great offroader. Hauled it through a tough series of desert washouts, the pic is poor but I figure you can imagine how steep the dropoffs are. Could use a lift and 15" wheels, both easily done this summer. That Kimberley has all the goodies, Trailmanor the same, the beauty is hardside when opened up, use much less LP keeping comfortable at night in winter.

Nice that Kimberley has a 31 gallon fresh tank, that's a big deal IMO, one thing that makes boondocking enjoyable is staying clean, a hot shower every few days. I carry a 45 gallon collapsible water bladder for the 40g tank in the Trailmanor, go to town once a week for LP, laundry, fill the bladder. http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/portable-rv-fresh-water-tank-45-gallon/1605

They mentioned 16K miles in the write up, but the pic shows 26K?

There's a magic number (I believe 20 years old) at which point you can bring vehicles like that into the States.

Crap! Good catch, I've been in the US mindset since I retired.
