More humid than your area? I grew up in the northern neck between the York and Rappahannock rivers and that seemed pretty humid.

Got Mattie home and in a bed on floor.
    She's still doped up.
Vet said the gum was holding piece of tooth in there.

Southern Maryland is nice weather wise. Winters are pretty mild with maybe 3-5 good snowfalls and generally last about 10 weeks. Summer is hot and humid, very few hurricanes or tornados. Taxes and oppressive gun laws have me looking elsewhere when I retire, someday.

Leave a card and be on your way. I hate the customer who thinks my time is less important than his.

Nevada and Wyoming are on my short list. Just want to go do a little exploring out that way before the time comes. I see these great pictures that guys post on here of picturesque mountain ranges or rock formations and think how nice it'd be to walk out the door an see something like that every day.

I've started researching where to retire to. Its tough cause you have to look at weather, available health care, taxes and on and on. My buddy's Dad moved out in the sticks in Arkansas (I think) to get away from people. Problem is that his health is on the decline and there's no easy access to public transportation. Just one more thing to look at. I did see on the news where record numbers of Americans are chosing to retire outside the U.S., I think Canada was number 1.

Done it more than once over the years. Call the shop and say next. The shop wonders how I got done so fast and I tell them. The shop and customer get bitchy and I don't care.

I believe it is. I grew up in southern Indiana and have been in Kentucky quite a bit. It seems to me that the humidity hangs on longer and gets absolutely dripping thick

Yep. For years, I was bent on retiring to North Central Pa. Cold Iron knows where I mean.
Familiar with the area, good hunting and fishing, made friends there, inexpensive (compared to here) and a lot of bang for the buck for housing and low taxes.
What scared me off was health care. Sure there's a few local hospitals, but if you need a specialist, like I just did, be prepared to travel a lot. Buffalo, Corning, and Williamsport are all a haul.

Yep the desert is very nice if you don't mind 110deg plus dry heat from July thru September
