Riddle me this, why do women cut off a random height strip off the top of a crisps bag when they start nom-noming them down?

Why do you wish it had a 3.90? It has a 4.30

Because it easily has enough power to be in 6th gear around 45 for cruising or 50 for moderate acceleration. At 70 MPH it's cranking near 2500 rpms. That's a bit high, and probably the reason for lower hwy economy numbers compared to the auto.

My truck is staying stock in terms of tire size. I drive between 15k and 18k a year, so fuel econ is a concern (not the top). For those that keep thier truck stock, the 3.90 or 4.10 would have been better. Of course, if you are putting 35s on you are gonna want lower gearing, but Toyota should be concerned about proper gearing for stock trucks.

The manual already has a ~15% lower 6th gear compared to the auto. It would have worked out about right. The auto is overgeared.

All that said, I'd rather be in our situation rather than the auto guys that can have a tough time using 6th!

wow, first i heard of that from anyone around here.

i definitely would not give up my 4.3 rear, not for 5 mpg or any reason. the 4.3 and MT are what makes the truck for me. i think I'm not alone for what it's worth, but to each his own.

As soon as you find hills you'll be singing a different tune. I rarely get into 6th these days.

I would not want 3.90. However I would take a 6th that is geared higher. It is too close to 5th. 5th gets no love in my truck aND gets skipped on up and down shifts. If they would make 6th higher, I would use 5th and you would get better mileage in 6th at 75. YMMV.

^^This. I almost never use 5th unless I am making a moderate hill climb at residential speeds and that scenario is not very common. I skip 4th sometimes too. Depends on how much I gun it in 3rd.:D

Yes I just had mine done. And it's linked to the phone. And can see temp, if the truck is ready to start. Can lock, unlock and set the panic off with phone. My phone died and the truck was ready to start so called wife to start it for me when I was 10 mins out so it was ready when I got where the truck was. It uses the Verizon network.

Yes it is. Hang on let me look. It was done by a shop. As I didn't want the liability if I did something wrong. 2017 mt

Added the drone mobile for the phone. Need to find the aux module to control the windows and the sunroof. Be a good add on just in case.

Been following this thread for a year but this is my first post (in this thread). I was just old by a Toyota dealer today in AZ that Toyota is not making a MT in TRD OR. Where and how can I order one?

you simply have an inexperienced & misinformed salesman. or a player.

i would either get in direct touch with the GSM there or try another dealer. they are available now. but you'll need to request it ahead of time in most cases since it's very rare to find one on the lot, although it happens. the MT can be had with a OR DCSB 4x4 only.
