I was looking for inferno access TRD Sport in rear wheel drive but real happy with blue. Still haven't seen any access rear wheel drive Sports in my area in any color. Would have taken red too. Definitely would have passed on silver, black, gray or quicksand. They had access cabs in SR5 in all those colors but were around $30k and I got the blue Sport for only $31k. So good things come to those that wait. I do like the inferno.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
My guess is Toyota makes the most of what sells the best. What they forget/or maybe not is that "most of the time" customers buy exactly what they see or can get their hands on NOW, with no waiting required. And as a result, how can these "impatient" customers buy what ain't there? Somehow there needs to be a better balance of what is on the lot, vs. what you would HAVE TO order. I did my research and thought out my TRUE needs and wants, and had to order.
Of course , I am sure Toyota's marketing gurus know more about this stuff than I do.
Subaru, for example seems to keep plenty of cars on their lot with and without the "Eyesight system" (collision avoidance system/with adaptive cruise control). When I started looking for the Subies --I did not know about, nor understand this system. After having it on Our Outback --I would not want to do without it. Tacoma does not have it yet (wish they did), but mark my words in 2 yrs.-- they will have it on the Tacomas, and all of their other models.

Yes I was offered some good local deals on double cab TRD Sports. I already had a double cab and preferred the bed length over a full rear seat. Dealers did not understand my reasoning for wanting an access cab when the market was flooding with double cabs. Same for access SR5's. Mainly did not like the light gray seats and the black grille. Black seats were hard to locate in that model. I sold my 2014 F150 when I started searching for a Taco. I looked from late September until Jan 1st until I found mine. To me the hood, grille, navigation and seats were worth the wait and within $1000 of local SR5 models. There were simply no trucks that I wanted allocated in my region thus, rented a one way car, and drove 4 hours north to Maryland to get mine. They even discounted the price $1000 off msrp. You are correct that the dealers tried hard to push what was on the lot. The local dealers refused to help me find what I wanted. Bottom line is I am only buying what I want to pay for. Seen many people that took what they could get even though they didn't like the color or the package. To me that is just foolish.

    Nice!

What lift kit did you use? I see you Plasti dipped the badges. Did you also do the grill? If so, do you have some pics from different angles?

I have the same truck and have been getting ideas for mods. I like what you've done so far. I'm still unsure of the red on the TRD wheels with the blue, but it looks nice on your truck with the red in the bed sticker.

Purchased a 2017 TRD Sport Double Cab Short Bed 4x4 V6 Auto (7542) in blazing blue pearl with 3 miles on it in Brevard county, Florida last week! I had a 2012 TRD Sport Double Cab Long Bed 4x4 V6 Auto in nautical blue metallic previously. 4 out of my last 5 vehicles were blue with 3 being a dark/midnight blue. At first I missed the dark blue, but the BBP has really grown on me!

    Base Invoice: $32,153

    Base MSRP: $34,705.00
    V6 Tow Package: $650.00
    TOYOGUARD Plus: $699.00
    All Weather Mats: $309.00
Delivery, Processing, and Handling Fee: $950.00
    Window Tint: $199.00

    Total MSRP: $37,512.00

    Selling Price: $31,430.00
    Discount: $6,082.00 off MSRP

    Total OTD Price: $34,606.33

TRD Pro grill on order.. black TRD wheels, KO2 tires, HID lo's, LED fogs, exhaust tip, black tailgate inserts, and black plastidip for emblems all will be ordered soon! Considering a Bakflip MX4 cover and may also add some other miscellaneous items such as a cargo net, bed mat, door sill protectors, etc. I was going to do LEDs inside too but I read bad stories of people having to replace fuses or even computer parts because of it. A small portion but not worth it for me. I've had LEDs inside all of my previous vehicles including the '12 Taco without any issues.

The day I traded her in just over a month ago. The grey was my prior. I have already been doing the work to her since the day I brought it home. Waiting on the SEMA wheels to get in today and Predator step rails. I'm not going all out like I did on my grey one until I move away from Northern VA. 33 12.50s Mud grapplers don't work to well with daily driving in this area. Still missing my grey one but the blue one is definitely helping me move forward.

I'm confused you say the selling price is $31,430 but the OTD price is $34,606? Are they hitting you with $3,200 in fees...? Congrats on the new truck BTW can't wait to see it!

I will get some more pics of it up, this one does no justice. But I have had nothing but grey cars for years, decided to switch it up. The BBP was hard to pass up. But I still have my grey ZL1 camaro :)
