    thank you, and we def stayed in the car, seat belts on, I even reminded heather to stay leaned back in the seat and not leaning forward JUST in case something happen (whiplash, etc). thats all you can really do in my mind.

    the weather is "fine" here. it was like mid 40's today I think. slight drizzle in the late afternoon. supposedly some heavy winter weather coming next week, last I saw on the weather network. my truck arrives in a matter of days so once I get the rear locked im looking forward to some snow wheeling!

    And.....Someone with an SWR (Standing Wave Ratio) meter to tune your antenna once up and running. They can be bought at most truck stops. Wilson brand SWR meter cost me $26. You'll also need a short (2' or 3') section of coax (w/ends) to serves as a jumper between radio and meter. Coax from antenna hooks to meter. Reception is increased dramatically when SWR is set properly.

    I've got a Cobra Ultra III 19/9. Not super impressed with it. Works very well at close range. Low wattage. Will eventually find a good deal on a full 4 Watt radio. (Maximum allowed on a CB by FCC)

    Don't buy a magnetic mount antenna. They suck. If a tree limb looks at it wrong it will fall off your roof and slam into your door.
