Last time I went I started at the hammock's at the resort. I had a ziplock bag full in less than 30 minutes. Full of coins, a silver toe ring and a few lighters that still worked. I want to go out just off the beach in the surf and collect the rings and jewelry that people lose. I tried the beach itself but there's so much shit out there it's a pain in the ass. You get bottle caps constantly, pull tabs and a lot of useless shit. I live within 15 minutes of one of the last battle's in the civil war when they took Columbus. I know exactly where it took place and told a friend of mine at work we ought to go down there and see what we can find. The other day the river was low enough to get in the river bed and I know there some cool shit in the river. Hell, they pulled a huge civil war boat out of the river before. My friend said he's recovered all kinds of guns out from under the lower bridge to the city for the police dept.

I have the one in the silver and like it. If someone tries to jump me and can't reach bang,bang then I'll clock em over the head with this. That'll knock em cold. Yes it's that solid. Also double a window breaker if needed. It's quality made.

That would be awesome to go over. I'd invest in some of the big $$$$ stuff if I had access to that.

I like finding stuff but I'm just not big into civil war artifacts. I'd probably sell those if I found them unless it was something really neat. I enjoyed reading all about the battle across the river they had. I was mainly reading it to try and find somewhere locally here to have a neat spot to go to. There was a really great area where the troops burned a factory down heading down to the main part of Columbus but now the guy that owns it has build a bunch of condo's on the property so that's a loss. May be something out on the island but I sold my boat so no way to get out to it now. A couple of years ago they took out what everyone thought was a spillway in the river. It ended up being a wooden damn build back in the late 1800's for the cotton mill that was there to divert water over to their generator. They found all kinds of stuff in there and it was a huge complex built wooden dam they had constructed in there. All the wood was salvaged and was put up for sale. The river still has a few of the cotton mills left that are rotting or being turned into loft's. There is also the old civil war Iron Works that is a convention center now. A few of the mills have mysteriously caught on fire including the one my grandparents worked in. Lots of history here but I really like the history of someone who lost their $10k ring of $5k Rolex.

Still would be neat to pull something up from so long ago though. I'd really like to find some civil war money.
