Gotta have the chicharones at break time with hot sauce man:gossip:

Although these microwavable ones I think they're more of a gag and they were very salty

Semi-retired oil field wire-line tech, though I have done everything oil field over the years. I sweep the floors at a local machine shop now, it is laid back and I get health insurance.

I wanna know how many of you guys got great jobs without college?.... I started and had to quit for family reasons now I'm going back online and at night at 27 years old with a 4 month old it's tough.... I honestly don't know what I want to do forever. I've got a good job as a tool and die maker now with good pay and benefits.... but I don't really care much for it. I'm going back for construction technology now. Really wanna work for a big company with decent benefits.

Well i never finished college. Only have 13 credits left for a BA in accounting. At the time just didnt have the funds to do it.

Im a cable splicer for a phone company now. But i have done almost everything from cleaning bathrooms, sweeping parking lots, to work in a medical office. I just worked, i was never ashamed to do anything. If you do a job good enough, it doesnt go unnoticed. I just worked and worked. Always worked hard at what i was doing, but was always looking for something better.

If you end up going into construction, Granite and Zachary are really good companies to get into. Zachary especially.

I've just got an associates degree in Electrical Instrumentation & Control. I'm 24. From my experiences working hard and taking a lot of sacrifices has gotten me to where I am today. Been doing Oil & Gas stuff for nearly 5 years now. Started at around 40k / year salary. Last three years I've been 100K+ before taxes.

Now for the sacrifices part. I'm single, no time for a girlfriend. And usually work 60-70 hours a week every week. Today is actually my first day off in the past 14 days.

That's exactly where I'm at.... 5 years in to the die work like I said make good money for no education!! But am always weighing my options. I passed up 20/ hour cash to work for a home builder bc my own taxes isn't the route I wanna go down.

In my opinion common sense will always go further than a degree.

Sure a degree will always help you get your foot in the door, but if a person is an idiot a degree won't change that.[/QUOTE]

I always looked at stability instead of money. My dad always taught me to base everything i do on minimum wage. So if something happened and i had to work minimum wage, i could still make it. And i have always looked at things that way. I mean i went through some partying and blowing money, but i have always went back to the minimum wage thing. Always seemed to work out.
