Know what you mean. Left NorCal for Iowa a year ago. Lived in CA since I was one. Had to move because of job, otherwise I would have never left. It's a beautiful place to live, when it's not on fire. lol

Walking into a store and buying what you want is awesome, but I wouldn't have moved here for that reason alone.

    Concealed carry or OWB?
If you're looking for OWB see if safariland makes an ALS holster for the 226 (I'm sure they do), they're great for duty, competition, hiking, open carry, just about anything, I've never been let down by my ALS holsters.

Good to know. I just bought a Bladetech OWB for my Glock 20 and I love it. Passive retention, so I've yet to find out how it works on long hikes. Good to have options other than the Serpa for general OWB field carry.

Thanks man, I'm looking for a holster for when I'm in the range. I'm going to check that brand out

A Blade-tech should do well. I've carried my 30S in one out hiking, hunting, four wheeling, snowmachining and never had it come loose.

I absolutely love the ALS system, it's a thumb release system so it doesn't look like a retention holster unless you get the level 3 retention.
When I'm hunting/field shooting I use the level 2 but just about any other time I have it in a level 3 light bearing holster.

A TW member reccomended it after I asked around about a duty holster for one of our local officers.

My next unofficial guess: Looks like a Anschutz Medallion series BA .22LR Competition with the peep sights off and scope mounted. Although the stock is the base model.

    I think...

Sanded down a mag plate for better concealment. Just one mag, took quite a bit off but it looks and doesn't print anymore. Since they don't make the plates anymore I had to take a sander to it. Was a little nervous but turned out pretty good.
