I'm in Olathe, experiencing the same weather and I've not experienced any temperature related vibrations. Are the vibrations speed related and how are they felt?

Different vehicles cannot be compared. The longer the wheelbase, the less of an issue this would be.

Maybe you're not experiencing this because you are stock correct? I noticed this vibration when the weather dropped below 60degrees I'd say. Also, I went to KC/MO and went up this steep dirt road hill and used the 4wd, noticed it after I believed. In the end I think it is my needle bearing. There is a fix for it, it's a faulty design that will bite your truck one day randomly. Lifts make it worse.

I have a massive vibration when breaking into a steep incline/decline and I can feel it in the driveshaft/seat/steering wheel. Is that what you guys are feeling? like a grinding rumble noise/vibration?

I think mine has something to do with the Tcase and maybe the angle of the driveshaft when the body is under flex. I brought it in but didnt have an answer untill I saw this. I thought it was the transfer case. It made it hard to disengage my 4x4 and then I noticed the grinding more under those circumstances.

any help would be great... I have had a number of issues with this stupid truck but i still love it.

So i'm gettin a weird hum vibration around the 40 mph range too.
Did you get this fixed? I have a 17 that just had its 5k service and just a week or two ago its started doing this weird humming vibration jazz that seems identical to what you describe. Same speeds too.

Have you tried putting it in 4HI and seeing if it goes away. In your pic your truck looks lifted, might be the common Drivers CV Bearing.

I have once before at the deer camp. I'll give it a shot. I have a 2inch front level. Would that be causing it? I got it aligned and all when I got it. It's been about a month or so.

I have a 2019 TRD off road, 4 dr. It has the slow speed, (14-27 mph) rumble, it drives me crazy. It is bad enough to make me want to get shed of the truck. Toyota says it is "characteristic" of the truck. My 2015 TRD Sport, 4 ltr 5 spd auto, never had this problem. Looks like the TSB for the 2016s does not apply to my truck. Well, I guess I will raise some hell with the dealer and see what happens. It has been there twice, it has only 800 miles, both times it got balanced tires, problem is still there. Any suggestions?

Have you tried an axle shim?

2019s have the axle shim. I've seen it on mine.

It is characteristic of the truck. Likely a complex coupling effect between rear brakes, leaf springs and driveline momentum during braking.

You'll get used it to over time. Mine was pretty noticeable at 500 miles, and now I barely notice it at 3500 miles. My guess is as the brakes bed in and driveline loosens up a bit, the vibration decreases. Also, adding a bed mat helped significantly (extra 30 lbs in the bed).

I have a 2020 and there is no shim.

If it’s a characteristic that causes premature wear, that’s not acceptable and something you won’t notice until you have considerably more miles.

If it doesn’t cause wear, then it’s just a characteristic that can be lived with.

Huh, that's weird. Which model do you have?

I'll see if I can snap a picture of the shims later.

When I first installed my aftermarket lift (add-a-leaf plus 2.0 Fox shocks) there was a shim which was installed under the leaf in order to reduce the pinion angle to compensate for the 2" lift. I never noticed the rumble strip vibration on deceleration. However, when I recently changed out the stock leafs to Deavers and upgraded the shocks to 2.5 smoothies, the shim was not installed.

Pretty sure that the onset of the vibration and installation of the new suspension happened about the same time. The pinion angle is now increased compared to stock and I wondered if this is what is causing the vibration. When I get some free time I will try and install the shims under the leafs to see if the vibration improves. Installing a shim is not difficult and would be an easy fix, although I would think that Toyota would have considered adding a shim to correct this vibration problem.

As I said in another thread, I plan on installing a shackled ladder (track) bar. Curious to see if this helps as well.

Do you happen to know the part number for the shim?
