    BED LIGHT BAR
So I'm working hard to create a "light" bar (if you will) that would attach to the bed rail system of our tacomas. The one I have now is essentially complete. The only thing left for me to do is spray it black and then finish it off with a rubberized coating. However, should I need additional holes in the middle, I could just drill them. It doesn't take up a lot of room and would still allow the use of a cleat under the bar.

I'm looking for feedback (as in changes would you make to it) and a price you would be willing to pay for such a bar. All nuts and bolts would be included to attach.

Keep in mind guys that the light on the bed rail bar is just for looks and serves the purpose of giving you a visual.

    Longer bar...

I would buy one if I didn't have a light bar already.

    But it still looks great.

That looks good Albert. The size is just right centered behind the cab of the truck. There is no need for it to be longer.
Why didn't you tell me you were making these? I just spent under 2 bills for my custom light bar...:(

That is a really cool setup, being as it's so simple, I wouldn't pay much for it, $75-$100 tops. but I have a 1st gen so I can't buy one haha.

It's funny you say that, because I actually have another bar available, but its smaller. So there would be two available sizes.
    The one displayed is 36".
    The smaller one is 27".

The longer one is in the picture above. I didn't use the smaller one. I will probably set one up and take pictures soon. Perhaps that one will be painted black first.

Haha. Thanks. I know you have one already, BUT what would be a reasonable price?

Thanks man. Depending on the amount of materials I use to make these, what would you pay for one (really out of curiosity)?

Thanks man. I'm working to see if I can have this set-up manufactured for our trucks. All the feedback I can get and how much members think its worth would help a lot.

It looks like it would be very functional and sleek. I like that it doesn't use and of the cleats and really doesn't take up any room. I like the cb antenna, maybe I would put that in the midde ( Iknow you were just showing us the uses for the product) and there is still room for 2 lights on the side. Depending on the price including shipping I would get one. Maybe under $100 shipped to NY.

i like the mount for the CB whip and the light is cool and a good idea for night wheeling and pulling stuck chevy ZR2's out of the mud but i like a tool box so it would do me no good..but i like the idea and design keep up the good work

    My reccomendations:

    1. Make the long version the full width of the bed rail.

    2. Drill mounting holes every 6" acroos the lenght of the rail.

    3. Add 1 more bed rail mounting point (for a total of 3) for the long version.

    4. Powder coat in black.

I have a camper shell and wouldn't have any use for something like this, but I'd pay $100 for the long version if the changes I suggested above were incorporated into the design.

    Good luck with your project.

    1. I like the longer idea, just may be bring it in a couple inches from the edge.

    3. The third mounting point is a good idea too, extra strength.

Not to be overly critical just fine tuning.

The short version would work great on the sides if you really wanted to use a bed rail bar. :D A tool box in the back would definitely take up some valuable space. My other project will be bed lights on the side using the mounting brackets. Not sure if I can make it work by sliding it on the track system yet, but working on it.

I don't have the ability to make a bar that long. Love the idea of putting holes on the bar. Perhaps I should start with one in the middle and start outward from there. I did want people to customize the bar they see fit, so if I make the holes, then they would be in a sense obligated to use the pre-drilled holes instead of making their own. I would agree about using a third support for the longer bar if I go that route.
I will have to inquire about power coating, but I had the intentions of black spray paint as a foundation then the rubberized spray after that.
Definitely love the ideas though. I appreciate the feedback.
