    BottomLeftSupports.jpg BottomRightSupport.jpg InsideMiddleSupport.jpg MiddleSupport.jpg TopRightSupport.jpg Here you go kol,
I had to do the middle back support the first time when they were about 12 years old the current fixes were a year ago. The top is done same as the bottom basically there is no way to repair the case if the back fails just so you know. The back is only a 1/4 inch and glued and stapled . My opinion on the first failure was after power was out for 2 days in deep cold when the house heated back up I heard a strange thump from the kitchen. For about two days I tried to figure out what it was till I went to put some little used stuff away on the upper shelf found the side had pulled away and the shelf had dropped. The last repair I do not know what happened just found the lower shelf sitting on the glass where one morning the rest of the back had failed.

    Thanks. Good idea.
Yea these have almost half inch particle board backs. If I could I'd remove all of the fur down in kitchen to have bigger cabinets but that would mean custom cabinets, big mess, sheetrocking, big mess, a year to finish, big mess, and don't have the time.
I have a Brad and staple gun I might be able to fill gap with half inch cabinet plywood before install.
    Thanks for tip.

If you have a decent amount of space between the back and the wally you can mount them with a French cleat system so more of the weight is supported instead of being supported on screws alone.

Then they are similar to mine just keep it in mind. Maybe a thin piece of oak base trim under them to support more.

Yeah the entrance to my crawlspace is in my single car attached garage a lot here are out in the open with metal door covers. I could only guess why the further north you go they go out side some olde houses up there I have been in only had exterior entrance to the cellar. Some interior and exterior a lot of the old houses had coal or wood chutes down to the cellar so perhaps that is why.

Up here we call a bulkhead the door down through the the foundation to the basement.
It's also an escape from the house if necessary

    Gotcha.
Will look at them later today.
Would like to get one more done today.
The base cabinets are wasted around stove from years of coffee makers puking on counter and fridge has a water leak gremlin from solenoid to spout in door but it's paid for ,15 years old, still works, do t use spout in door much, saved money since it had a crease in door that I covered with calendar.
