I'm curious and not trying to dis anyone for doing what they want with their truck. Wondering why some want to strip off the exterior badges, then add the Tacoma tailgate lettering, glove box lettering and door sill lettering. Like I said just wondering ...

I have seen a few in person with badges removed and suprised how good it looks.
Many members are on their 3rd or 4th truck and know what they like.
    All about personal preference.

Probably mostly about how crappy fake plastic "chrome" looks...

I have debadged all including the TRD sticker on the bed. I then added the stamped tacoma letting stickers. Just my preference really. Don't care for the chrome. Great thing is I can change my mind and add it all back if I want. Pic for reference.

I'm a badge lover so I never debadge. My truck is going to get a wrap eventually...which means the badges must come off. I'll probably be the only person crying while taking them off

I hate the V6 badge personally.

My girlfriend hates the TRD Off Road 4X4 sticker on the back. (I dislike the red in it)

I'm iffy on the Tacoma badges but I decided I'm going to swap them with something else rather than plasti-dip.

I'll post pics when I'm done.

It's really just about customizing to your preferences and liking.

I never thought about most of this stuff until I came here, checked out everyone else's ideas, everyone's obsession with plasti-dip, and decided on some things for my own truck.

Can't wait to show everyone when I'm done, but hey, it still looks damn good stock!

I will be taking off the badges at some point. Think I will start with the V6. I am looking into a company now that can make me Vinyl for the side of my truck for the lower half of the doors like this photo. Flat black with my quicksand. I am requesting to have TACOMA on the lower rear doors of the vinyl.. Kinda stamped out of the vinyl so the lettering will be in quicksand.... So then I will take off the chrome Tacoma on the front doors...

Just got my truck a week ago, and been debating on how to black them out (plastic dip, overlay, remove and paint). Now.......I might just remove and let be and only paint or change the front grill.

    all tore up already
how to class up any vehicle in 3 easy steps:
    1. remove anything glued to the paint. badges, stickers and dealer insignia
    2. clean up anything not removable with plastidip, paint or vinyl. cannot remove the tailgate stamp so better make it look good, same applies for the sun visor warning decals.
    3. forgot 3, guess classing up a vehicle is done in 2 steps:notsure:

I'm doing exactly what this guy said. I'm still debating the tailgate stamp.

Now all the chrome is off the tailgate, but the "Tacoma" pieces are still on the doors...until this summer when it's warmer, and I'll take them off.
