i planned to completely debadge my Pro and requested it from the dealer. but the dealer couldn't [or wouldn't] get me a clear answer on the big TRD Pro A-pillar badge as to whether it had screws or not. this was all a prep for a 3M wrap job.

after holding back on removing the big side badges until i got a clear answer, i decided to do nothing. so, the truck is stock aside from wheels, tires, and some interior stuff. maybe one day.

It's kinda interesting that my SR Utility package came from the factory fully debadged... No chrome lettering anywhere. Guess they assume it's going to get a fleet vinyl wrap probably.

I at least partially debadge pretty much all of my cars. My biggest offender was my 2011 WRX. On the back it said "SUBARU" "AWD" "IMPREZA" and "WRX" all in chrome lettering across the back. It looked pretty tragic so I removed everything but "WRX" and it looked much cleaner.

I stripped off and put different colors on mine. Wanted matte black all over because the chrome looked dumb to me, plus I hated the V6 badge... does anyone buy a 4-cylinder anymore?

Mine came with the letters in the tailgate from the dealer but I like how it looks on my silver sky. Since then I removed the dealership sticker, the V6 piece and plasti dipped the Tacoma emblems.

I had a sports car that I wet sanded all the casting lettering off the taillights, side marker lights and parking lights, then polished the lenses. No more picky detailing when waxing...........

Yes, it was de-badged too. And the trunk keyhole was filled as well.

Smooth rules. And old guys do too. :hattip:

Did that with my Miata. It's amazing how much of a difference removing the casting makes, especially on an older car where you might have a bit of discoloration starting to happen.

Polished the heck out of them and put them back in, the car was still dirty (ish) but people were like "WOW you really cleaned it up!!"

The ease with waxing is just an added bonus.

    There are some. :headbang:

Nice work! I am considering my own "unique" combination of badges and decals, yours is in the same vein.

    Great looking truck.

My SR came without badges, saved me some time! Personally, I do not like badges as they look kinda cheap. Really liked what Toyota did with the new Tundra and Tacoma with the stamped tailgate and raised letter tailgate handle. Looks like it is actually meant to be there and not just stuck on. I did put black tailgate letters on mine, again personal preference, just think it looks a bit better with the contrast!

Same here but on an MGM DC Sport 4X4. Love the black badges, especially on the silver tacos. People tell me all of the time that they like the matte black badges and ask where I got them.

I took off my badges and the black sticker between the door. I think it looks slick. I left the TRD sticker on the bed until I get a new one. I might just leave it though
