I have the AT2's in the 265/70/r16 and I live in North Dakota. I commute daily on marginally driveable roads and I don't know if you keep up with the weather but we get a lot of snow and normally subzero temps. I've had zero issues with them even at -25 ambient sitting outside overnight on pavement. As several other posters have said they're snowflake rated and priced very reasonably. Yes the BFG's are nice having had them on an old Taco but I can't say enough good about the AT2's. Expedition Overland runs them, (check their YouTube channel), Mountain State Overland runs them, YouTube also, and a lot of people here do too. Best of luck in your decision! And I included a pic of the snow we get here. That was taken yesterday, Dec29th.

Michelin LTX is what I have and they are great for snow and rain.

Haha that's too true. The drive into work after the first snow or ice of the season leaves the ditches littered with out of state cars.

    What's P rated mean?
I'm a little confused with the P rated and C rated tire.

At least that's how I remember it.

LT E rated tires are 10 ply and probably overkill, but I run them on my Tacoma and FZJ80. They are typically 50+ lbs depending the size, and will have some negative impact on gas mileage. However, you can drive over stuff. If you have cactus, mesquite, sharp rocks, etc., I say go for the LT E.

I like the Michelin LTX AT2's (6ply). Work well for me in the sand, snow and snotty slick boat ramps up here in the PNW. I got 109,000 on the last pair and just put some new ones on the 2017.P1050304.jpg

The Destination AT is what I run, I've had them for about a year and 15k. I don't rock crawl, not many places in Southern Maryland to do that, but I have taken it through quite a bit of mud and some snow with no issues. They aren't noisy and didn't kill my mpgs, only complaint is they pickup gravel by the handful.

its a Toyota truck and that's all the modifications needed
they a pretty good tire and are priced good, mine got noisey around 40k and got nosier as they got more miles which was at the end of the treadlife anyway, but they performed best in snow conditions.

I've had the Cooper AT3s since 2013 and they're still like new about 35k miles later. Rotated annually. Great in all Midwest weather.

I got the Cooper AT3's in 255/70/17 and so far they've been great. Didn't get stuck at all in the recent snowpocolypse in Virginia (4-6" in my area) and the ice.
They've been great on the road too!

I took my Prerunner out today and did a little real world testing on the 8" snow we got the night before. My tires (Destination AT) have about 15K on em. No problems at all on gravel or dirt roads, up and down hills no worries. Can't wait for all of this to melt and turn the road into mud.
