    Small useful for me stuff.
To be totally honest I've never looked at one of those books. I suppose I should as your not the first to ask. I have to go up there later today for some stuff. I'll take a look and get back to ya. I can't imagine it will be in depth but could be a guide for basics.

    Afternoon everyone

It's a wet and cold day here with it currently at 50 deg and falling . The big storm is supposed to hit my area about 1700hrs and should see snow down to 3k ft . My area is supposed to get mud / debris flows and flooding

Not doing much today may go to the weight room and throw some steel around and walk on a treadmill

So, just as I'm getting ready to fire up the excavator I'm told there's a 7 kv powerline next to the waterline. So you can imagine my interest when I pulled up an old phone line that wasn't supposed to be there as well as it being on the wrong side of the waterline. But, since there wasn't a fireball, I figured I was alright.

That doesn't look like fun !!!

I remember back in 1985 while working as an Electrician in Scottsdale at the Scottsdale Sheraton Resort . watched a landscaper using his backhoe to dig a hole for a palm tree . he found a 12.5 k volt underground cable and when he pulled up on his bucket there was a loud explosion and flash

Ok, thanks for the heads up. I should be ok, it's not quite noon yet.

Just cloudy and cool in the PNW. Ever so slight chance of snow maybe tomorrow I highly doubt it though.

I normally dig in the same direction as the pipe, but since there wasn't supposed to be anything on that side (and I believed them), I went against my better judgement and just started following the leak. I was being gentle but still managed to snag the wire. The lesson here is to trust nobody.

I kinda like the fact that here we are well within our duty to cut the ends off extension cords and just about anything else to do with power. This is my yard and it will be kept tidy. :D

    CBYD ?
Made a lot of money fixing stuff that got dug up.
Even when we set poles, you couldn't always trust CBYD markouts and end up hand digging rather than shredding up stuff with the auger.
