Well no, that's what I usually say. Among many many many other things. Perhaps bad taste in this specific example.

Helped a neighbor out today. I went to take the recycling out and the dumpsters are across the parking lot of my apartment complex. So I dump the recycling in the bin, turn around to walk back to my front door and look up and a neighbor of mine is running around his (rather old) truck that he's been working on and looks at me with a HUGE, "OH FUCK" look on his face. Thats when I notice some smoke and some light coming from under the truck. Then I notice the flames.

So I sprint to my truck (luckily I have my keys on me) grab my fire extinguisher and run over. Thankfully he has an extinguisher in the truck and starts putting it out and we get it out together.

No real damage done, just scared the crap out of him. Turns out he bought the truck two weeks ago and had been doing some work on it to get it running well again. He said he had changed the oil, trans oil, and some gaskets, and he was cleaning out the carb when it caught on fire. We start looking in there and it looks like some oil had leaked onto the exhaust manifold and while he was opening the throttle to help get some air thru the carb it got hot enough to ignite the oil. The extinguisher in his truck had been from the previous owner who had left it in there because the tag on it was expired, in 1998! Thank god it still had pressure and worked just fine...

Lesson learned though, check for leaking oil before reving the shit out of a 50 year old truck.

Oh and now there is 20 something year old extinguisher chemical powder all over our parking lot.. and his engine bay.
