I have $800 to get a lift for my '02 DC.

NO blocks. I'm only looking for a real lift that has function.

Right now I'm lookin at doing Dakar leafs, 5100's (or 5125's if those are the extended shocks). And OME 883 coils in the front. That SHOULD give me the 3 inches I'm looking to get.

    Does anyone else have suggestions?

Build it up. It actually hits trails, hence why I have no interest in blocks. I have sliders and a water tank on the way. Building a custom bed rack in 3 weeks out of all aluminum, and have plenty of recovery gear for said rack. Will be hopefully getting a CVT tent as well soon. Bumpers are just a few months behind that.

Keep in mind, 3" is gonna be a rough ride. Its gonna be maxed out at 3" and you'll have hardly any down travel, if any. Fyi. Hopefully you'll end up with 2.5" by the end after bumpers and whatnot. But in the meantime, exect it to be rough. It'll work. But you'll be creeping along those trails instead of cruising. The ome coils should be a bit better riding than eibachs tho like I got. Sounds like you should be good for the most part tho.

All of this on a $800 budget??

    Very ambitious...

Dakars are rough ride with no weight but are a solid spring. I like mine a lot off-road.

Where are you finding all this for $800? You know you might need UCAs right?

It's already priced out though. What I'm looking at will cost me $750

5100s are nice put mine on my self still drives true, you feel the bumps on the road but for the price and functionality it's worth it, I added a leaf to the rear to level it out a bit but the ride is horrible unless there is weight in it. Should of went with better rear shocks but i built the rears at my local spring shop for 500 and 300 for the shocks on eBay. It depends on your preference and what you want the truck to do or how you want it to look.

Well, I already have 5100's up front set half way. I was gonna buy OME coils and set my shocks to stock. And then buy new leaf packs for the rear.

My truck had a spacer lift on it with rear blocks. I replaced it with ome 880 springs (reg cab 4 cyl) and ome nitrocharger sport shocks all around. I still have the blocks in the rear. And I love the ride. Of course I only have the spacer lift to compare to.
