Soon the registration for the 2017 Lone Star Toyota Jamboree will open. I know that I will be there and I'm certain that many other TacomaWorld members will be as well. We are looking to caravan with anyone traveling south along the I-55 route so feel free to chime in so we can make some arrangements.

One thing to remember, is that Texas Parks & Wildlife Department has a compulsory "Off Highway Vehicle Program" sticker to allow off highway access. You may purchase the sticker from the office - not the event check in / registration area - at BMRA. I know allot of people opt against it but I don't take the chance and I like supporting programs that keep these areas open for our use.

    TacomaWorld campsite:

There was talk at last years event of making a TacomaWorld & Friends campsite but we never really decided on a location. I really liked the site that @Overkill07 and @ETXTacoma used last year as it wasn't too far away from the main event barn, still had nearly direct access to trails, and had the holy grail, a public bathroom.

We intend to tow our camper trailer with us and wish to invite our TacomaWorld friends to join us in using it as a base camp while we all have fun at the event.

I believe yes, I did a lot of stuff in 4x2, but last year was my first time to Barnwell so did not do a lot of the harder stuff.

    I'll try...

It ultimately will depends on the Army and work schedules. I'd love to make it though, might be able to convince @Crodliner too.

Sub'd. Never heard of it. Sounds exciting. It looks like there's possibly some classes that happen... Anyone know more details about those? Is this expo style where people give talks on different areas? 4 days of just wheeling is a bit overwhelming for me but I'd like to go if there was some organized talks or hands on classes. Has anyone gone that can shed some light on what to expect on a daily basis?

I believe @G.T. has gone in the past.
There are many vendors signed up to be there, so there may be other activities. As far as I know there is lots of wheeling, wheeling contests, and just fun camping. There is the Offroading 101 course, and I wouldn't doubt there'd be more.

I went last year and had a blast! There are a ton of vendors, lots of wheeling, lots of classes to do as well. There is also a massive giveaway of stuff!

I'm slowly talking myself into this. I think I might prefer it over Overland Expo West. Easier to commit to being closer to home and all. I see the site says kid friendly... Has anyone brought their families along? I have a son who will be 5 then. Could be a good test for an "extended trip" since all we've done so far are a couple over-nighters. Not sure if it'd be well suited for him. Although, he does love a bouncy house...

I heard about raffles on my local 4wheelin' site. How much do you think I should save up for that?

I would bring at least $40.00 just to buy raffle tickets. You can also win some by doing some of the events if you want as well. But I would bring at least $150 or so in cash to spend on vendors, food truck, raffles.
