What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

He'll try the SC on a whim hoping it'll help him diagnose the issue he's having with Frank and the whole thing will cascade from there.

 

Lol this is all maintenance stuff. Minus the tac weld mod which is easy and figured Id try it. Easy to remedy if I don't like it.

Major mods will be held off for a while.

Believe me. I've thought about it. Bumpers, long travel, alternator, tires, and tranny.

But I can't bring myself to do it. Plus I don't wanna do that to my dd.

Mine is a 4x4 TRD with rear locker, power windows, power door locks...

....and no clock

 

WTF? That's crazy.

I would have like to hear a salesman try to explain that when the truck was new.

"This truck has power everything, awesome seats, upgraded suspension, and even a locking rear diff."

"That's great. What time it it?"

"Uhhhh.... did I mention power locks?"

 

I have a clock but manual everything, except hubs...which I'm okay with.

 

Yeah, never understood it either. I bought the truck from the original owner after a couple of years.

Never got the explanation.

But I like that there's no clock. Leaves that space open for something else like switches.

My head unit has a clock on it.

 

I am glad I am not the only one who minimizes driving in snow/salt. 1st gen frames = take the wife's car.

Any good write ups for replacing a exterior door handle with electronic lock ?

I have seen some but for manual locks .

Loaded for deer camp. Rut started. Two 4wd beast ready for it.

 

Ha I just did this last night and will have a write up for it.

But the locks make no difference either way when doing the handles.

 

Just bought a full size spare. It's on a matching wheel but I bought a cheap AT tire because I'm not going to rotate it in.

Now to figure out where to mount it. Ill probably end up with it under the bed but I haven't decided yet.

Yea. We're off two weeks down here. The warm falls and winters effect our rut, it's been so hot we wear shorts at Christmas.
