Just used some scrap metal. Made out of 3 pieces. Cut and welded after taking measurements. My brother did the welding tho. I did all the cutting and powdercoating. Kinda ghetto fabbed with nothing but a grinder and cutting disc on hand. But turned out ok I guess! Ha. Super sturdy. Bolted through the door channel, under the headliner. Probly would go a different route if I was to do it again. Which I might whenever I decide to change up my light bar to a double row 10watter. Going under the headliner was a beotch. There's a valley in there that I had to widen a lil to gain access to put some nylocks in..

Edit: I basically held each piece in place on the truck, while my bro tac welded each piece in place. Then fully welded afterwards off the truck. Then installed.

A lot of people run the wiring down the A or B Pillar into the engine bay underneath the weatherstripping between the door and pillars. But the headliner is the most protective way. Good job.
If you don't want to make your own @Tacoma530, I have set for sale. It would be a local sale too! Check them out in the 1st gen marketplace.

Just to clarify. I only bolted the light bar thru the headliner. This was before I knew about nutserts. I also contemplated welding it to the door frame via welded rivets. But yeah, the light bar wiring is drilled through the rain channel and ran down to the engine bay.
Also, you learn things sometimes too late after going the difficult route. Ha. Why I said I'd Probly go a different route next time. For one, I Probly could've made another piece to set inside the rain gutter, and bolted it to thru that, instead of going thru the headliner area. Or used nutserts. But most light bar mounts (for other vehicles) are designed to bolt into the rain gutter. Surprised I haven't seen that done with ours yet.

I got a 42" with relentless mounts, the mounts even come with pretty fool proof install instructions that make leveling the light bar that much easier for a one man install. The glare the light bar produces is very real, I underestimated it, I love the look tho. There are some light shield things that help remedy the glare, might be something worth looking into. The 22" I have behind my valence is the most functional/useful for me.

I always wondered why the lights were going up top. Now I see it was a looks thing. I thought it was fairly common knowledge about the harsh glare, being the lights are above the line of sight. Headlight level and below for accessory lights and you're golden. I have seen folks do a black vinyl wrap on the hood or part of the hood to lessen the glare.

Common knowledge yes, but I always factor in the "diva factor", a lot of things people complain about are a bit blown out :D. This time however.. It was very accurate :frusty:

Lol, no worries man. Been there done that. Unfortunately I tend to learn things the hard way. In my head I can make everything work. Doesn't always end that way, lmao. You get older and wiser and trust in the advice of those that have gone through whatever before you. Not that I'm old. Mid 30s but still.

I wonder if the pencil beam accessory lights riding up top still produce crazy glare?
