Apparently the NTSB was not accurately portrayed in that movie. Still a good watch though

I wasn't sure how accurate that was, good to know.

My mother was in DC for NTSB training when the movie was released and they explained to everyone there how it wasn't entirely accurate.

I second seeing this place! It was fantastic when I was there a few years ago. The last I had heard it closed to the public but after browsing the website and finding a news article it is now open with limited hours and less exhibits than before. Even with that it will be worth a visit. I may try to return this winter if I have time out that way.

Here is an article with a story update: http://www.orlandoweekly.com/Blogs/...opens-to-the-public-with-limited-museum-hours

Thanks for the info. I'll have to try and check it out. Looks like I will have a few days in Florida to kill.

    ...^^^ ... true

PS .. I remember when I took my ... "first legal flying lesson" ... my instructor said it was 7 times more dangerous coming to the airport than flying in the plane.

However ... he didn't differentiate between small aircraft and flying lessons vs driving to the airport.

    That is a missive airplane.

I'm a pilot and I know some stuff, but I don't get how it flies.

Thrust, baby. That's what got the F-4 off the ground, and it has the glide path of a cinder block.

I think they also made it out of fiberglass and Styrofoam or something like that.
