Good luck hope all goes well and you are correct, getting old is certainly not for wimps. Weather guessers here called for rain and sleet but it is snowing right now. Hope it stays that way and hope that you also get snow instead of rain. Nothing good comes from rain this time of year. Or lake effect snow for that matter!

Totally understand being a man of your word, been in that situation more than once and it is isn't easy even though it is the right thing to do... And you can't undo stupid, you tried with her son and still trying. Maybe down the road some of it will sink into him, who knows. But good on you for trying patience can only go so far.

Sometimes wish I got overtime but been salary ever since I joined the Navy 40 years ago. When I first started here the first couple of years worked 60 hours a week as a rule and on call every 4 weeks averaged 110-120 hours a week I called it hell week. Now pretty much 45 hours a week most weeks and on call once every 4 months and seldom get called. And get paid more money now, go figure. With the kids gone last couple of years I take every ones else on call for holidays, I'm on call now. Most of the others on the team have kids and family locally I do not so not a big deal and helps cement the team together, I think and hope.

The Marine Corps are changing the Dress Blue regs for the WM's

Marines have always had the best uniforms. I had to wear sh!t green, until they adopted blues for class a's

 

One of the princess' in the court was my son's prom date.

 

The WM's are now wearing a modified version male Dress Blue jacket and they're now wearing the same cover

No idea what your talking about LOL. Coveralls. If I needed to get dressed up I put on a belt Actually I did have a pair of white shoes, dinner dress jacket, etc. some place. Think wore it a total of 2 times. Coveralls.

When I was younger always wanted to get on a drill team, and then discovered I have 2 left feet. One of the Army recruiters in Asheville, NC was at Arlington and DC ceremonial guard including honor guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns. Had some pretty interesting stories and was certainly squared away at all times even in the middle of no where.

Always loved watching the Navy silent drill team ceremonial guard but they won't call me anytime soon. Some consider them the best.

 

If I can get rid of this knee issue I'm wanting to join Semper Fi 1 which is a US Marine Corps Burial Detail at Riverside National Cemetery

 

I was on the flag detail during PLDC and, after one of my reenlistments I was going to commo school as an NCO and was in charge of the color guard for the graduating classes in the battalion every week. It gets old and I'd more than had my fill of trying to instill discipline in 18 year olds who.just finished basic, never been away from home and full of raging hormones...kinda like raising someone elses kids for 13 weeks.

 

When my son was a poolee his recruiter took him and about 10 others to see the SDT at the Marine Barracks in D.C. Very impressive.

 

...and I cringe everytime I hear some celebrity destroy the national anthem trying to "make it their own" to this day.

 

My brother was (or maybe still is) a member of the Marine Corps League and they participated in funerals. Not sure what he's doing now that he moved to Michigan. He was right there by you in Fontana but moved a few years ago.
