Missing the run today unfortunately, but family New Years plans. I'm down for tomorrow so long as I don't get pulled over for my tail light

Yes it was! I'll leave decent pics and video to you and @Goobersbro to post. Here are a couple of the view from my truck from Sardine Lake. And some maps of the two main areas we went. We made it just up and over Henness Pass (coming from the East), but had to turn around. No other wheeled vehicle tracks. We gave up after multiple recoveries. Good times!

Is there a qual sheet, and official equipment list to be "blessed" to associate with the "veteran" thread? I saw a partial but don't want to be presumptuous.

Looked like we weren't going to see much snow at the start of the trail/road around Boca/Stampede reservoirs. (note; all pictures taken with iPhone. Not bad, but not great) Oh, and Jan 2 starts the new year. Actually, the 3rd, as that is when I have to go back to work.

At our highest point. Upper Sardine. At the base of the Sierra Buttes. It was blowing at 40 to 50 mph up there.

    IMG_2054.jpg

Then it started snowing fairly well. This was our que to RTB. My nephew practicing his penmanship. He's got work to do.

Great day. Only three trucks. One more , or two, would have been fine. When we got to the top of Upper Sardine Lake there was just enough room for us all to park and turn around.

Every vehicle got stuck and had to be recovered. I nearly got stuck twice more. I thought Jon was going to roll, and he almost went into the trees. I was trying to get my nephew to get a video with my phone because Jon was doing some wild fish tailing (we all were, as we tried to skinny pedal through the deeper snow, and fighting some of the previous tracks). Just then he got sideways and was headed for the trees. Some treds, and a little winching got us going again.

How was trafficc going home? We did the Bullards Bar Marysville Road to 505 route. It was a breeze.

We left Reno at 11 and conditions were pretty nasty over the summit. They had 80 westbound closed but my dad is a Caltrans worker so we got through. Did 10-15mph over the summit. Caught the tail end of the wrecks and spin outs at 80 20 which is why they had the hwy temporary closed. Sat in traffic for a mile or two trying to get to the 20 exit and once we got on 20 it was smooth slow sailing again until just above Nevada city.

I would move to them threads, but, over modded/experienced for the newbies. And under modded for the veterans even though I run extreme trails.
