    Find a dead squirrel on the road, clean it and skin it (hopefully already done by a semi) wrap in foil adding salt and pepper (from those McDonald's packs you have in the cup holder) put on top of the manifold, when you get to the potluck, tell everyone it is chicken.

    Just nuked some pulled pork and bark with a splash of apple cider. Maple baked beans on top and chopped some fresh pineapple into it. After it got done being nuked put some coleslaw on top. Damn could eat another bowl for the taste buds. But body doesn't need it. Yeah keep telling myself that...

    Yeah but cousins are fair game, just saying :) Not that there is anything wrong with that.

    LOL think everyone that was in any branch of the service talked about those in other States as having a family tree with very few branches. Unjustly so.

    My days of canned cuisines are over, but I use to do them. Cream of potatoe soup/cream of mushroom soup/ cream of broccoli soup, can of green beans, can of whole corn. Mix and heat, pour into thermos for lunch.

    Funny story on the sisters / cousin thing:

    Down in TX we had a guy from Arkansas and we used to harass him all the time about being married to his sister etc as we never saw his wife at any of the ahem "command performances" . Well one year at the squadron Christmas party he did bring her and his sister who was up visiting . He walked up to me and a few other guys standing around and said hey I would like you all to meet my wife and my sister ..We turn and look and .. there is one woman standing there now I did not start laughing ..first but only by microseconds lol he looks at us ready to kill. He turns and see's only his wife and turns back to us sputtering lol unknown to him his sister had taken a detour to the bathroom on the way through the place lol .. He is sputtering and cussing at us finally shuts up and his wife is like umm huh the Sgt turns to her and apologizes and explains we have harassed him about being from Arkansas and such she starts laughing which makes him madder lol . Finally his sister did come up and his wife explained the red faces and gasping for breath to her she laughed too so lol :}

    I have to admit the look on his face when he turned back around after realizing only his wife was standing there was PRICELESS LOL

    Marsh rabbit in the deep South is the name on the menu. Never ate ate rat but got $1 for my first rat hide back in the late 60's. Went up to $5 a rat soon after. I would take the carcass and nail it to a tree for bait for coon and mink. Possum seemed to like them too though and only worth 50 cents, not worth skinning the greasy nasty critters though. Tough ones to kill about like a coon in that department. Big boar coon was 20 dollars.
