It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
It certainly would be an entirely different challenge.

Yeah. There's a couple of spots where you can't see the road ahead of you. All you see is your hood and trees. I had to stop and check to see where my tires were a couple of times. That was back in 2006, maybe 2007.

    Thank you sir.

Pretty sure the plan is going to be Union Springs up, then maybe FR85 to FR95/Stokesville Rd. back down. Looks like a nice loop that should take a few hours. Make a couple stops at Flagpole Knob and Reddish Knob. Worst case, we end up in some stuff we don't like and we turn around. I think I'm just over thinking it. Need to just pack the truck and go explore.

Happy new year peeps! I'm halfway to Harrisonburg. Hopefully the trail to Flagpole is open. I'm assuming they don't lock all the gates for holidays anyway. Lol.

Happy new year to you all!

F12, enjoy the mountains. We're heading up to Maryland and launching our kayaks from Mallows Bay

Not really. I was expecting colder and windier. Especially after we were about halfway up Union Springs and hit this... IMG_20170101_104734.jpg

I have a stock TRD OR, but 4x2. Is Flagpole doable without 4x4? Not really looking to go rock climbing or anything, but wouldn't mind a nice trail ride in the mountains.

If you run Dunkle Hollow Road up to Flagpole, you should be able to do it with no problems.

Secondarily, I'd like to set up a meet n greet soon. All the winter festivities are over so let's find time and place to get to know all our Fburg friends

Thanks for the input. I've put it on my "near-term" to do list. Maybe if I do "just enough damage", I can upgrade my rims (one of which is bent) and tires! I've got a few ideas for a get together that I think a lot of people will enjoy, so I'll put something together. Hopefully this time people show up!

Waiting? Don't wait for us. If you have a hankering for a git together, just post it up, we've all got some stake in this. Now, where you wanna meet. Last time the subject came up there was talk about somewhere down by Cosners Corners
