i took mine off road and got stuck in the snow, novice move... i just got carried away instead of turning around

a couple of other stuck folks helped unstuck me and i tore off the front mud guards in the process... not sure if the screws shook loose or they tore right out of the wheel well but i'll find out when i put some new ones on - any recommendations?

lesson learned - carry chains, shovel next time.

i did get to use crawl control reversing down a snowy hill, it's a pretty cool feature and easily dug itself out of a couple soft spots while i just made sure to not drive off the edge. glad i had it, hope i won't need it again anytime soon

Did you try to use crawl control to get un-stuck?

i did but i might not have given it a fair chance as it seemed like some momentum was needed - i was trying to go uphill in reverse on real sugary snow on top of an icy lumpy logging road, felt like there was no traction at all in the spot where i kept getting stuck. some weight in the rear might have helped too

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
Well crap, that sucks. Glad your OK. It dose look like the frame is damaged. Not sure, but because it's structural I don't think that can be fixed. It will need to be replaced. I don't think it would be enough to total it, but I don't know for sure. Good luck on dealing with the insurance company.

Where is the recall mentioned? Shouldn't the dealer send a letter to bring the Taco to shop? Bought it on 11/6/16.

Glad to see that not finding a plate frame that'll fit isn't operator error on my part. I've had a difficult time finding one to fit. Did you get this one at AutoZone?

Your 3rd gen came with mud flaps??

Mine didn't. I'm glad it didn't but I don't think I've ever noticed them on any 3rd gen

Yes and 1.25 wheel spacers. I like the look of the stock T-Force wheels. I only rub when the suspension flexes a lot or when coming off a steep slope. No more rub at full lock or reverse.

It's a Dealer add on. Some Dealers have a "Protection Package" which includes mud flaps that they tag on to the Sticker price. Here's mine as I got it from the dealer.

I installed the AAL and rear shocks of the Icon Stage 3 at home yesterday. Today the front coil overs and UCAs go in.

It's not a recall, it's a TSB (Toyota Service Bulletin). If you truck is experiencing the problems described in the TSB, you're supposed to take it in, complain about the issue, and then technically, the Tech is supposed to search the TSB database, find out that hey, other people must have been having this issue, because Toyota engineering issued a official TSB to flash the ECU and "fix" the issues described.

But because of the awesomeness of this forum, you can just print the TSB that others have uploaded, and which you're not supposed to know about, hand it to the service guy, that way the tech doesn't have to guess or hopefully find it by himself (you're already did the searching for him, more/less). Some dealers will just take your word for it and flash it. Others will make the tech "reproduce" the issues before the flash the TSB, which they may or may not be able to do.

Must be a Canadian thing - there's some stuff we get as standard (mud flaps, tow package) and some stuff we can't get at all.
There are no 'packages' just set models, for example a DCSB can only be AT Off-Road (no sunroof) or MT Sport (sunroof)
