Did a lot of work cleaning in the garage yesterday and could hardly get out of bed this morning. Not that I wanted to, couple of inches of ice everywhere this morning. This sciatic nerve thing is getting old. Or maybe I am.

County trucks haven't come by yet so even if I could get up driveway not going too far except ditch. Damn I hurt today. Oh and supposed to be -1 tonight and below zero and single digits rest of the week. Think high of 2 tomorrow. Just wonderful.

Your city must be taking notes from my County. :annoyed:

Can actually sit up in the top rack if there isn't a pipe in the way. Middle racks were prime. Bottom sucked when they were the old ones and had to trice (lift) them up during the day. Hmm might explain why I like an extra firm mattress to this day.

Plow truck came by. Threw a couple of inches of ice into the top of the drive. Didn't drop sand or salt. Now the tracks in the ice on the road are solid slick sheets where the tires have run. Wonderful. Temp is dropping fast and down to 18. Shit make that 17 now. Salt melt isn't working very fast put down almost 100 pounds at the top normally it turns to liquid and runs done and melts everything below it. Not doing much of anything right now, but it is more than an inch thick. Have a feeling going to have spread more melt soon and use the flat blade shovel and dig it out inch by freaking inch.

It is the beginning of January after all.

    Morning Everyone

Cool morning with temps in the high 40's , overcast skies and chance for rain today . Also more cold temps and heavy rain forecasted for the end of the week thru the weekend

Weather reports saying 5" per rain by Saturday , we've got whats called a atmospheric River headed our way

Also found out this morning my water heater to a s**** and only cold water . nothing like an enjoyable shower with room temp water !!!! :annoyed:. This is the 3rd time this water heater took a s**** in the last 3 plus years . Also was replaced in 2010 when the bottom fell out resulting in a few gallons of water on the floor

Headed to the VA this Morning to visit my Primary Health Doctor

    Have a good day !!!!!!!

Sorry Chuck. We replaced our tank water heater with an on demand unit 7 years ago. Absolutely love it.

    Good luck with the Doc.

My living arrangements in the Marine Corps was a open squadbay with 90 of my closest friends sleeping on nice & comfortable racks . I did however near the end of my enlistment get to sleep in nice 3 person rooms @ El Toro , those Barracks were nice almost like a one bedroom apt

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
I've had mine for about that long as well. One of the best home improvements, I ever did.

    uughh ... That sucks.

Agree completely. Really shines when company comes to visit. We had 15 people in the house for a couple weeks two Summers ago. Endless hot water was a whole new experience. :)

top rack sucked all the sh#t from the overhead would fall in it. Middle was the best but the top rack person would step on it wile getting in or out. also used as a table sometimes. bottom sucked when the compartment flooded. but you are correct the middle was the best

I have a natural gas boiler and the electric water heater sits 5 feet away from it. Why they put in an electric water heater with gas right there is totally beyond me. Been going the 15 years since I've lived here and never been a problem but the day it does go an on demand hot water heater is going in. First saw one on "This Old House" and back then they were just coming out. Think they are great idea.

Down to 13 and wind is picking up real feel -5. Low tonight is now supposed to be -2. Time to shovel more ice. Is it too early for a drink?! Guess that wouldn't help and would likely freeze anyways.
